Hi I'm Mike Cox

I have a wonderful wife and 8 wonderful children. I served a full time mission in Japan for 2 years. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wonderful wife who married me in the Salt Lake Temple in 1990. I am the proud father of 8 wonderful children. My favorite thing is spending time with my family. I am a nursing home administrator and have worked in nursing homes since 1989. I enjoy working with the Boy Scouts currently as the Assistant Varsity Coach. I enjoy riding bikes and especially like my Swing Bike. I like classic cars and muscle cars because my dad collects antique cars and restored them for a living until he retired. I like computers and video games. I also like playing sports especially basketball and volleyball.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. My great great grandfather was baptized in England in 1851. He and his wife and children came across the ocean to America and crossed the plains in a wagon train to Utah. I have been an active member of the church for as long as I can remember. I know that the gospel is true. I have a testimony of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that he restored the fullness of the gospel to the earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson is Gods Prophet on the earth today. I love going to church because I feel the Spirit of The Holy Ghost testifying that the gospel is true. I also love meeting with fellow members of the church and the fellowship and unity I feel with them. They are like family to me and in fact we are all family since we are all children of our Heavenly Father. Being a member of the church is a way of life that is very fulfilling and makes me happy. I love telling other people about the church. If you have any friends that are Mormon I bet they would love to answer any questions you have. You are also always welcome to come to church and see for yourself what it is like.

How I live my faith

I work with the young men in our church. I am responsible for the 14 and 15 year old boys on Sunday and youth nights and Boy Scouts. My son and I are also assigned to teach and help 4 families in our church through the Home Teaching Program. We received callings in our church which we do on a voluntary basis. I have never turned down a calling. I am willing to do whatever I am asked to do because I am dedicated to God and Jesus Christ and I want to serve others to follow their examples. I am very grateful to all of my leaders current and past who have served and helped me. I know that God lives and that his Son Jesus Christ is my Savior and friend. It is my goal to follow his example and obey his commandments so that I will be able to return to live with him in heaven.
