Hi I'm Dan

I play violin and study statistics. I play Magic and computer games, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I'm preparing to serve a mission in Bogota Colombia speaking Spanish. Before and after this I will continue my education studying Actuarial Science. I played violin for ten years before I left for college, and I still love classical music.

Why I am a Mormon

I've read the Book of Mormon and I've come to know that it is true scripture from God. Living the standards and life-style of the Church has brought me the most happiness in my life. The joy and comfort it brings is incomparable.

How I live my faith

I've acted as a leader among similar aged youth in the church in my neighborhood and I'm preparing to teach the people of Colombia about the LDS Church.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

It is not a requirement to serve a mission, the same way it is a requirement to be baptized. Serving a mission is a personal choice, but one that brings with it incredible blessings and changes in people's lives. Young men are strongly encouraged to serve missions and are allowed to begin the process when they have graduated high school and are at least 18 years old. Young women are allowed to serve missions when they are 19 years old. Many young women choose to pursue their education and/or starting a family after high school instead, which is perfectly fine.
