Hi I'm Danika-Marije Summer Bell

I grew up in California. I am preparing to serve a mission in the Uruguay. I hope to make a difference. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Well I'm 20 years old and a full time student. My major is in Elementary Education. I hope to take this degree and teach in other countries. I also want to make a difference in the Education system. I love being creative and hope to bring that creativity into the classroom. I have about a year left of school. In my spare time, I love to play sports and be outdoors. As a family we ride dirtbikes, wakeboard, snowboard, and shoot guns (so you can see we love being active). I have never been musically inclined but I am currently trying to teach myself the piano. Then maybe I'll learn the guitar or something.

Why I am a Mormon

To be honest, I was born and raised a member of this Church. All growing up a lot of my testimony of this gospel came from the testimonies of my parents. However, now that I am older and on my own I have begun to realized that I know this church to be true for myself. I have seen so many miracles in my own life that testify of the truthfulness of this gospel. The spirit is what testified to me of the truthfulness of the gospel. I can't imagine my life without this gospel. Even through the trials of life, I see the blessings and joy in every moment. I know that this is because I have the gospel.

How I live my faith

Right now I am living my faith by preparing to serve a mission in Montevideo, Uruguay. In May I will leave to be in Uruguay for 18 months sharing the gospel with the people. Some callings that I have held in the church are callings as a teacher on Sundays, and a visiting teacher. Visiting teaching is a very important calling that allows you to visit with other ladies in the ward about once a month. This gives each lady in the ward someone that they can rely on. It brings together so many members of the ward. It helps the members of the ward to fill more like a family.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Danika-Marije Summer Bell
Not all Mormons are required to serve a mission. When a young man reaches the age of 18 and is worthy to serve a mission then it is asked of him to go. Those that go to serve a mission go to serve because they love the Lord and want to share that love with others. Anyone that serves a mission sees it as an opportunity to serve the Lord and their fellow men. A young woman can also serve a mission at the age of 19. She is not required to serve either. A young woman is asked to serve a mission for 18 months and a young man for 24 months. This is not a paid mission either. Lastly a mission is a call, you are called to serve wherever the Lord needs you it is not your personal choice. Show more Show less
