Hi I'm Amanda

I grew up in Idaho. I am studying to become an elementary school teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to college and I don't have too much longer until I receive my teaching certificate! I just love children and can't wait to teach them! I love to read and sing. I also really like to go running. I really like outdoor activities also like camping and fishing. One activity that I enjoy is cooking, but especially baking! I come from a large family with 5 other siblings and one step-brother. I am the third oldest. I love my family very much! I just love life and enjoy what each day has in store for me!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a mormon and was baptized when I was eight. Some people might think that it is because I was raised that way, but it goes a lot deeper than that. As an eight year old it is hard to express feelings and knowledge, but now that I am older I am able to do a little better. I have had a lot of struggles and trials in my life, but the thing that has stayed constant is being a member of Christ's church. The knowledge that I gain from going to church, reading the scriptures, and saying my prayers has brought me to the truth that Heavenly Father lives and He loves each and one of us so much! His love is so strong that He sent His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us. Christ suffered for us so that we wouldn't have to suffer for our sins and trials, that we may be able to go back Home to our Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I have received that truth through reading and pondering those scriptures, another testament of Christ, and praying to see if they were true. I love the scriptures deeply and have gained so much knowledge from them and have so much more knowledge to gain from studying them. I also believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet and because of him, we are able to have the priesthood on the Earth and have living prophets that help guide us through this life through inspiration from God. I know with every fiber of my soul that this is Christ's church and that the knowledge we gain is from Him and our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I regularly go to church every week for three hours. And sometimes other wonderful meetings and activities that we hold. For church I am a secretary for the some of the ladies and so I help with organizing information and keeping people informed of upcoming events. I am so grateful that I am able to serve in my church. I am also a visiting teacher, which is when we become friends with the ladies at church and come to know them on a personal level. I also love to do service for try to find opportunities to serve others everyday.
