Hi I'm Megan

I am from Utah, I have a love for volleyball. I am currently preparing for a mission, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am nineteen years old, and am getting ready to serve a full time mission in the lovely country of Peru! I am very excited to teach the Gospel. I have always had a love for volleyball, and enjoy school. I was given the opportunity to coach volleyball for some time, while I went for a semester of college. I have two loving parents, that are great examples and a little sister that is currently a Sophomore in high school.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ is my greatest blessing. I am a Mormon simply for the reason that I know it is true. I consider myself so blessed to not only have the truth, but to KNOW it is the truth and experience it for myself. I have been given so many great and shining examples, who are truly disciples of Christ. I am blessed with a great and faithful family, community, friends, and leaders, but what I am most thankful for is that I have the knowledge for myself that it is true!! There are so many commandments and doctrine that make this Church so wonderful and true, and over the years I have come to see that when we do follow the commandments, and seek Him diligently we are so blessed in ways that I-along with others-did not know was possible! I am a Mormon because it is the true church, and there is nothing I would rather be apart of than something that will bring me and my family back the our Father in Heaven!

How I live my faith

I have been very blessed to grow up in a place that is a full of faithful Latter-day Saints. This great blessing has given me so many opportunities and challenges! I have many friends and family members that are of the Latter-day Saint faith, of all whom I am able to connect, share, and build the Church with. To show my love and respect for Christ and His true church, and also to learn more of it and feel His sweet spirit, I am persistently seeking His guidance. I do this by attending church regularly, along with going to other activities throughout the week, such as Institute and devotionals. I also try to read and pray daily. Doing these things helps keep me stable, it helps me to remember what is important, and what truly matters. When I do these things it is much easier for me to keep the commandments and to follow in faith. Every time I read the scriptures, or do something right I feel like a better person, with a purpose.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Megan
The Temple is a holy place, it is a house of God. It is a place we can feel the spirit better, and go to become closer with our Father in Heaven. The reason we are interviewed and given recommends before we can enter is exactly for the reason that it is holy. It is a sacred place, and we do not want to disrespect the Lord's house with unclean things. There is nothing that is "secret" but rather sacred, and we choose to not speak casually about the ordinances, and covenants we make in the temple, because they are between us and our Heavenly Father.
