Hi I'm Ira

I am from Long Island, New York. I enjoy art, music, learning language's and making friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an adventurous individual. I enjoy moving beyond my previous limits and being a better person because of it. I feel if I'm not moving forward I am practically moving backwards, so I do what I can to move forward every day(even if only in a baby step). I enjoy meeting people and learning more about their backgrounds and cultures. I feel I grow in a large way by learning about those in the world around me and how they see life. I LOVE language, and while I am not fluent in anything beyong my native language (can you guess what that is ;), I am getting closer and closer in spanish. I have been learning bits and pieces of other languages along the way aswell(I recently learned basic greetings in Tagalog). I also enjoy creating art and music and applying creativity to all areas of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because through this church I have found the truth of my existence. The truth that leads me to act on all good feelings with the purpose of doing great things. These great things are built upon the small and simple, yet constant things that we do in expression of our gratitude for this life, and in preparation for the life that awaits us throughout eternity. I am a Mormon because of the example's of my local leaders and of the local missionaries who have dedicated at least a portion of their lives for the betterment of the lives of others. When we strive to live as Christ would have us, and take up our figurative crosses of burden, we can live with a heart lightened by the strenght we gain and by the path we walk on following Jesus' foots steps. I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ, and I know that through my application of the knowledge I have gained in this church I can live with my Heavenly Father again.. Truly experiencing Joy in the process!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full-time mission and am loving every minute of it (yes even the hard parts :) ! Participating in service activities helps me grow closer to my Savior and in turn to all of those who are around me. Looking for things to improve and strengthen around me has always been a strong feeling in my life and I know more why that is because of my faith in Jesus Christ and the church he has established on this earth. When I live like my Savior I can learn more fully how to live and how to love all of the people I come in contact with in this life. This is because I know that each and every one of us is a beloved son or daughter of an unconditionally loving Heavenly Father. Of this he has my unconditional gratitude.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Ira
The "Mormon lifestyle" is a lifestyle that allows us to be freed from the things that prevent us from reaching our potential(e.g. drugs, alcohol, immorality, etc.) and focus on the things that allow us to receive the joy we are meant to have in this life and become the best we can be(e.g. Families, Scripture Study, Prayer, etc.) Show more Show less
