Hi I'm Cal

I've grown up in Arizona and love exploring in the outdoors. I sing bass. I started college at 16. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love doing anything outdoors, especially backpacking or hiking, cycling, and playing soccer. I've hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim three times, two of them in one long day each. Awesome experiences. I have earned my Eagle Scout Award and continue to participate in scouting. I enjoy singing, the lower on the scale, the better. I have sung in my college choir, church choirs, and others, and I'll make up a bass part to any song I hear. I've always done well in school, so when the high school I was attending shut down after my sophmore year, I started attending community college full-time. I've worked as a math tutor and maintaining websites to earn money for my full-time mission. I am on a full-time mission currently in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission, and love sharing the gospel with everyone. I want to continue college, get married and raise a family, and become an aeronautical engineer after my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon be cause I recognize that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, the only way through which I can come to be like my Father in Heaven. And I have felt the Holy Spirit testify to me that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ visited Joseph Smith in 1820, and asked him to restore the true church and gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth, as it had been gone for many years. Joseph did so, and thus we have today the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know that it is the only church through which I can receive messages from God through a prophet. It is the only church through which I can hold the priesthood, the power of God on the earth. And it is the only church through which I receive the blessings of the temple on earth and be with my family for all of eternity. I desire all of these things, which bring me peace and happiness here on earth, and that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

At church, I have had several callings in the young men's organization, as well as being a teacher for childrens' classes. I have also been a home teacher, going with a companion to teach a families once a month about gospel principles and the teachings of prophets. I attend my church meetings on Sunday, as well as classes during the week, to learn more about what I need to be doing in my life to be more like my Savior, Jesus Christ. Currently I am serving a mission to invite others to comed unto Christ through His gospel. I do my best to be like Him at home, at work, at school, and everywhere I go.
