Hi I'm Capri

I'm a college student who loves to try new things. My dream job is to become a speech therapist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently attend BYU. I enjoy continually learning new things. I love playing tennis, baking, reading, traveling, and learning about different cultures. In terms of my career, I want to become a speech therapist. I am majoring in Communication Disorders and plan on going to graduate school. I find it fascinating. I love spending time with my family. I am the oldest girl of six children. I am going on a mission to the Philippines Cebu Mission, speaking Cebuano. I couldn't be more excited to serve the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

Happiness. The Gospel brings happiness. As I have obeyed my Heavenly Father's will in my life, I have been continually blessed. Keeping the commandments gives me more freedom and opportunity that is available to me if I obey. Doors have been opened because my Heavenly Father has a specific plan for me. He knows me personally. He knows the timing, events, and experiences that are meant specifically for me to help me grow. The knowledge that the Gospel brings allows me to trust in the Lord and know that everything will fall into place. It may not always be in the time frame that I would prefer, but Heavenly Father knows what is best for His children. The Gospel also brings me happiness because it allows me to serve others. I've noticed that the more I serve, the happier I become. Service allows me to forget myself and focus on the concerns of others. Even the simplest things, like smiling at a stranger, being positive towards others, or talking to a friend in need, I am serving my Heavenly Father, and it lifts me up. Serving others has shaped my life in a way that changes the kind of person I am. I choose to be Mormon because it brings happiness to my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through daily actions. It may seem simple, but I live by the standards that my Heavenly Father wants me to obey. I have a desire to become more like Christ. This motivates me to try my best to seek the good things in life. In church, I teach my peers in Sunday school. I enjoy learning and serving others as I prepare lessons to teach each week. I've noticed that as I strive to serve and live the commandments of the Lord, I learn and grow. Christ is our perfect example. As I study His life and try to live like Him, I demonstrate my beliefs. I'm not perfect. I make mistakes. However, it is through the process of making mistakes and repenting that I am able to grow and appreciate everything that my Savior has done for me.
