Hi I'm Sheldi

I grew up in Glen Huon, Tasmania, Australia. I am a Missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read, when I went to and from school you would always see me with a book in hand. I love spending time with my younger brothers, I am the oldest of five. I am an only girl, so its a bit upsetting that I don't have any sisters. I have the most amazing friends, when I am down they make the most ridiculous story's up so that I don't feel so small and insignificant in the world. I have a hobby of walking, it doesn't matter where I am, I will walk from here to there, but it's mainly from my place to the local library. I went to a Christian High School, and I was also the only member of the LDS church, and to me that was a time of trial, I didn't have the support that most of the other kids had when going to High School. I love being outdoors, every moment I have or make is outside and I love it, to me that is my place, and my sanctuary from the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have prayed and asked if this is right, I have gotten down on my knees and asked with a broken heart pleading to whoever is out there if this is right, I have gotten an answer I have received something so precious and tender that it makes me want to share that with those around me! Wouldn't you? And I have something so beautiful that I know what I want to raise my family in, this is where I am needed and I know my worth, and it is all because I got down on my knees and asked.

How I live my faith

I am a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, so that means I go to peoples homes and share what I know to be true and how it has changed me life and how it will change theirs. At the moment I am serving full time in the New Zealand Hamilton Mission, here I am living my faith by sharing it with others who don't know that they need it. It gives me the opportunity to show them what our loving Heavenly Father has in plan for them.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Sheldi
When we talk about the Word of Wisdom we are referring to keeping our bodies healthy and strong, and this means that we refrain from drinking anything with strong caffeine in it such as tea and coffee, but herbal tea is an exception we are also told not to partake of alcohol, as it ruins the body. It also means that we don't smoke or do any illegal drugs. We are also told to eat plenty of herbs, grains, fruits and vegetables, but to eat meat sparingly. When we follow through with this we in turn get both physically and spiritually stronger in daily life. Show more Show less
