Hi I'm Hunter Burbidge

I'm a missionary called to the Philippines Cavite mission, I like football, snowboarding, and serving others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I'm Elder Hunter Burbidge. I'm a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I've been called to serve in the Philippines Cavite mission. I'm still in the Missionary Training Center for about two more weeks until I leave for the Philippines, but I have gained a love for the people there already. I enjoy sharing the restored gospel with people. I can't wait to share it with everyone I see. I've learned that a mission is going to be extremely difficult, but I have already seen the blessings that come from being in this great service to our Heavenly Father. I enjoy reading the Book of Mormon and cherish it more than anything else. I love being a part of this work. I've waited and prepared my whole life to do this and it's surreal to actually be here. I'm striving to be better every day so I can be in tune with the Spirit. I love my Brother, Jesus Christ. I love my Father in Heaven. I love the Holy Spirit that testifies and communicates to us the will of the Father. I love this gospel, the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I love this work.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that my Father in Heaven loves and listens to me. I know that the teachings and gospel of Christ is in harmony with Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I want to show my Heavenly Father that I love Him. I love being a Mormon because it helps me be happy. The gospel of Christ makes me happy and gives me hope and a larger purpose in life. I'm a Mormon because I've come to a knowledge that this is the truth. I love it and do my best to live it.

How I live my faith

Right now I am serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This has been the largest trial of faith that I've had. I've gained a better understanding of faith through prayer and a more dedicated study habit. Faith can be built though small commitments that show Heavenly Father that we can be trusted and continue to follow Him. Reading your scriptures, along with pondering the instruction given, and then praying and asking of the truthfulness of that instruction is a process in which our faith can grow. I know that through consistent study and prayer, our testimonies and faith can be nurtured.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Hunter Burbidge
I know that following the Word of Wisdom has greatly impacted my life. Throughout the last year I have begun to become more aware of the damages and limitations that partaking of these substances bring. I've seen some of my closest friends begin putting harmful things in to their bodies and it hinders them greatly. From an educational standpoint to the physical ability to perform tasks that used to be easy for them. I'm thankful that I've chosen to steer clear from using these substances I've been blessed with good health and a clear mind. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Hunter Burbidge
I know that there is a God because of the evidence He provides for us to see Him. If we just look around on Earth, there are many things that humans still can't comprehend. There are places that make our imaginations wander. There are occurrences that happen in our lives that we can't understand. How some things happen are beyond our comprehension. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Hunter Burbidge
We live to better ourselves every day. We are not perfect, but we are definitely striving to become perfect in Christ. We are always evaluating ourselves and recognizing weaknesses and strengths. Mormons are accepting and love getting to know new people. We love interacting with others and learning about them. We live to bring others as well as ourselves unto Him and be good examples to those who look up to us. Show more Show less
