Hi I'm Karissa

I'm from Orem. I'm a dancer, skier, wake-surfer, student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to dance. I've spent countless hours training and performing. I love the feeling of being able to do a step or a move perfect. I also love being active: wake-surfing, snow skiing, mountain biking, swimming, everything! I'm currently a freshman at BYU studying Elementary Education and soon will be leaving for Chile, where I will serve a mission for eighteen months.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS home. My parents raised me, teaching me good principles and morals. They always encouraged me to keep my standards high. I don't have a moment in my life that I can say converted me to the gospel. I feel as though I was born converted and all of my experiences of feeling Heavenly Father's sweet spirit just add to my strong testimony that I belong to the true and restored Church of Jesus Christ. The gospel is a part of every aspect of my life and it makes me who I am. It gives me patience in the present and hope for the future. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing things every day, if that makes sense. Everyday I read my scriptures, pray, serve, and love others. I go to church every week and worship there by listening and learning. I rely on the Savior's Atonement and am continually repenting when I mess up in life. Through my trials I feel Heavenly Father polishing me and helping me become a better person. When life knocks me down I get back up and work harder, my faith gives me the strength to do it.
