Hi I'm Olivia

I'm an artist and a missionary. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was attending college in Utah. I was studying Art Education which means that I will someday be an Art Teacher. I love to create. I paint, I draw, I write, I sing and I dance. I can't help myself from exploring everything that I love to do and the many talents that I have been given. As of right now, I have received a mission call to serve the people of Japan. I love other languages and cultures, especially the Japanese culture which has captured my imagination since childhood. I will be preaching the gospel to the people of Japan until I return in November of 2014. I am so grateful!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been born into a family that attended this church and lived this Gospel, but I have not always chosen to live it. The times in my life where I was the happiest were when I sacrificed the things that I thought I wanted for what Heavenly Father wanted for me. I am happy when I pray, read my scriptures, go to church, and serve others. I have used Christ's Atonement to make myself clean and I feel whole everyday. My life does not always run smoothly, day to day, but I feel a purpose and a satisfaction that I am following my Father in Heaven's plan for me. I know that I am his daughter and I know that He loves me. With this knowledge, I know that I will be happy and successful in my life and the hereafter.

How I live my faith

I try to follow Christ's example and be kind to all those I encounter. I gain much from just being encouraging to strangers. I gain even more from being encouraging to my friends and loved ones. Giving kindness and love help me to feel close my Savior, Jesus Christ and my Father in Heaven. I am currently on a mission to serve the people of Japan. I am so excited to serve my brothers and sisters in Japan and to help bring them closer to their Savior.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Our lives are sacred. Before we came to this world, we chose Heavenly Father's plan. We are here to receive a physical body and to receive experiences in this body. An important part of Heavenly Father's plan was for our agency (or free will) to be maintained so we could learn to choose between good and evil. Heavenly Father trusts us to make our own decisions. We are here to make relationships with our families that will be eternal. With everything we gain in this life, we are becoming more and more like our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Heavenly Father created all of us. He created us in his image, which means that we have bodies that look and function the same way His does, though His is a perfected body. He has a plan for each one of us and knows our personalities, our likes, our dislikes and most importantly, our spirits, intimately. He is perfect, all-knowing and all-powerful and yet He just wants us to love Him. He wants to have a close relationship with each of us that will develop in this life here on Earth and the life after, if we choose to live with Him. Show more Show less
