Hi I'm Jared

I love sports. I love the outdoors. I love the Lord and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Jared. I like good books, long walks on the beach and I'm a Mormon... Naw just kidding. I'm eighteen years old and I'm a freshman in college. I'm the sixth of seven children and now have 11 nieces and nephews. I'm growing up here in St. George Utah. I never get tired of the scenic red-rocks and endless sunny days here. My passion is sports; basketball, tennis, racquetball, running cross-country, ping-pong, and pickle-ball. If it's a competitive game, I want in. I enjoy playing these sports with my teams as well as family. I enjoy hiking, camping, mountain biking, and all things outdoors. Music has always played a big role in my life. I love listening to acappella, soft-rock, alternative-rock, indie and classical music. I often find comfort and new meaning as I listen to uplifting music. I also enjoy singing. I've always been in some sort of choir, and I especially enjoy singing hymns with family and close friends. I enjoy working hard and serving others.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've seen the blessings it brings. Because I know for myself, through study and prayer, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is in fact Christ's church restored to the earth today. I'm a Mormon because this is His church and He guides it today through a living Prophet- Thomas S. Monson. It's kind of profound to say, but anybody can recieve this same conviction if they read The Book of Mormon and pray. Don't take anyones word for it, ask your Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I was born a member of the LDS Church and grew up in a family who lived their faith so I have been taught the principles of the gospel from the beginning. However, this doesn't automatically make me a converted Mormon/disciple of Christ. In order to show faith I try to live in accordance with the commandments and standards that the Church has set as well as doing the basics; attending church every Sunday, reading the scriptures daily, and praying daily. Along with the 10 commandments, the LDS Church has created a pamphlet called "For the Strength of Youth". This pamphlet contains standards that if lived, are promised to bring blessings, safety, and happiness for young adults. I have seen so many blessings in my life and found great happiness as I have applied these standards along with the basics.
