Hi I'm Shad Carlson

I'm going on a mission to Guatemala, I love music and sports, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up in Utah my whole life, being the oldest of four kids. I am in my freshman year at Utah State University. I have been playing the piano for eleven years, and I also play the oboe, trumpet, flute and some percussion. I love music, and it has influenced my life so much. I love to be active, so I play soccer and basketball. I also love to hike and swim. I love to get involved with government and getting other people to participate in government. I love to hang out with my friends talk with people. I love good food, especially pasta, hamburgers, and pizza.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in church, but I found out that the church was really true when I was 14. It was then I realized I didn't know for myself. After a couple of weeks and a lot of reading the Book of Mormon and praying, I felt the most amazing feeling I have ever felt, and since then I have never doubted the that the Church was true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and the Book of Mormon is the Word of God. Families can be together forever, and I can't wait to live with mine forever. This church brings me so much happiness, and I would never trade it for anything in the world.

How I live my faith

The biggest thing I do to live my faith is to live like Jesus Christ would. I pray and read my scriptures every day. I also try to love and serve people as Jesus would. I go to church every week, and love to spend time with my family. Currently, I am in charge of my ward's Sunday School. I make sure we have instructors to teach, and I also help the instructors improve their teaching. I am going on a mission to the Guatemala, Quetzaltenango mission. I am so exited to help others come unto Christ, because I know how much I need him. He means so much to me, and I can't wait to teach others about him.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Shad Carlson
The only way to know if something is really true is to pray about it. Read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if what you are reading is the word of God. Make sure you give yourself time to think about what you are reading. As you do these, you will receive an answer to know that the church is true. You will also feel the peace and joy that living the gospel brings. Show more Show less
