Hi I'm Madelyn

I love to listen and learn from people. I'm a lover of any art project that ends up super messy. And I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah but moved to Tennessee when I was very young. There I got very involved in the city soccer league and played two years in high school. In high school I also participated in the IB program which I can credit many sleepless sobbing nights but also an ability to do research effectively and meet word counts. After high school I joined my local young single adult branch which is amazing! And right now I am serving a full time mission in the Utah Provo Mission which I absolutely love!

Why I am a Mormon

This is a big question! I have to say that though I was born and raised a Mormon I definitely chose to be a Mormon. My senior year of high school I was kinda leaning away from the church. I just was kinda done with the happy, perfect, act I was putting on because that's what I thought I should be. Because of some bumps in my New Years Eve plans (AKA Heavenly Father guiding me to people I needed to see) I ended up going to the YSA dance that was being held. There I talked with this other very new YSA and we joked about what to talk about when dancing with YSA instead of youth and what he came up with was 'What temple do you want to get married in?' That question hit me, HARD! I had a boyfriend who wasn't mormon and probably wouldn't be for a long time. Did I want to be married in the temple? or even Did I want to be able to go to the temple? The answer is 100% YES! I want to be with my future husband and kids and grandkids for forever! I wanted to be an example that they could look up to. So I decided I would get my life in order and be able to go to the temple so that I can be with my family forever. So I am a mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the church of Christ on this earth and has the amazing priesthood power that can seal families together in this life and in the next.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving others. I try super hard to always see the best in people because I know that is what our Savior does for each of us. We all have mistakes and pasts (and sometimes right nows) that we're not proud of but we are each a child of a God! We all have infinite potential to be better. As part of this I decided to serve a full time mission and I love this opportunity because it gives me the chance to share with people their worth even if they don't see it now. I can share that the All Mighty Powerful God and His son Jesus Christ are there for each and everyone of us and are waiting for us to ask for the help they so want to give us.
