Hi I'm Caleb

I grew up in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. I love to SCUBA dive. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love anything to do with water. Competitive swimming was my sport growing up - I competed all over Western Canada. Naturally, I also became interested in SCUBA diving and became certified during high school. I enjoy reading a good book, and I especially enjoy history novels. Currently, I am developing some skill in soapstone carving; I've learned that trying to shape animals such as a polar bear is fascinating. Also, I'm a bit of a movie buff. My favourite movies are often simple and dramatic, with no special effects (although I do also love superhero movies and action movies a lot). My chosen career path is accounting, which I am presently studying at university.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons and I will do my best to explain them to you. Being a Mormon makes sense. Whatever is taught in the church, it is always for our benefit. The church highly emphasizes the importance of families and how special they are. The Book of Mormon has change my life. Whenever I read it, the teachings it contains make sense to me. I always have a feeling of peace as I read its words.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping my family close. I do my best to let them know that I love them; sometimes this is accomplished with personal visits and sometimes with a simple phone call. My family is important to me. As a family, we enjoy discussing Jesus Christ and his teachings. At church, I teach children ages 11-12 about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I do this every Sunday and I enjoy it very much. From time to time I am also asked to prepare talks or speeches that I deliver to our congregation. Most people in our congregation are asked to do this every so often, and it helps to strengthen us all in our faith in Jesus Christ. These talks that we prepare are meant to uplift us and help strengthen us in the face of adversity. They may be talks that give suggestions on how to raise your family, or how to overcome addictions, or how to be a good friend and neighbour to others, or how to eat and exercise in a healthy manner. I try to be a good example to others by being decent to those I associate with. Being a good husband to my wife, a good brother to my siblings, a good son to my parents - these are some of the best ways I try to live my faith. I simply try to do my best all of the time. I am not perfect and I often make mistakes, but I try to improve.
