Hi I'm Azie

I am a newly wed. I am a lover of books and babies. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending BYU-Idaho as a Communication major. I plan on emphasizing in Public Relations or maybe Advertising. I am have been married for six months and I love to learn! I am a reading, craft, photography and baby junky. I get this unspeakable pleasure from sitting in a comfy couch on a rainy day in my pajamas with a good book. I also find fulfillment in creating with my hands. I am trying to learn to paint, I sew minimally and want to learn more, and thanks to my mother I have a knack for photography. I like to capture people as they are, the real smiles and awkward faces that we all make in everyday life. My biggest addiction is babies. I can't get enough. I love them all. Skinny, chunky, brown eyes, blues eyes, curly hair, no hair it really doesn't matter to me, although I do have a soft spot in my heart for the super fluffy ones with rolls of fat on their thighs and arms! I love the sweet smiles and soft giggles that are often seen and heard in moments of play. My greatest joys as of late come while at home with husband spending time together. We play board games, we watch TV shows, we talk about our future and the family that we hope to someday create, we disagree on colors for our dream home and do dishes together. It may sound boring to some but it really is my happily ever after.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I can see how much better my life is when I obey the commandments of God. I live with a peace and calm in my heart that are only found when we seek the Savior. I sometimes lose that peace when I do things that are contrary to Christ's gospel but because I can repent and approach my Father in Heaven with a humble heart and he gives it to me again. He loves me the same all the time and through my actions I sometimes distance myself from him but because He loves me he allows me to become close with him again. I am a member of His church because I love truth. I am His daughter and I choose to be close to my Father. He has blessed me more than I have ever deserved and he continues to watch out for me. I want to be able to enter his presence when my earthly days are done. I want to return to Him having done my best to keep every single command that he has given me.

How I live my faith

I love attending church on Sundays. As a student at a school we have a lot of people that move at the end of each semester. Sometimes it is sad to say goodbye to friends that we are just getting to know but it is also exciting to meet new people in the coming semester. I had the opportunity to teach Sunday school for children age four turning five last semester. I loved it! They love reading stories from the scriptures with us and were building a strong faith by practicing the things they were learning like prayer and sharing. I also love to visit sisters from the women's organization and see what I can do to help them. I am also visited monthly by a set of sisters. It really builds my faith when I can help some one else. It makes me feel like I am becoming more like my Savior and being a part of something bigger than me. Teaching the children has helped me understand that faith is a simple thing. We have to do what we know and then it grows. My faith has continued to grow as I have acted on the principles that I learn as I attend meetings on Sunday and through my own personal study daily. I have had prayers answered, miracles worked, and hearts softened by living by the gospel that I know to be true.
