Hi I'm Jake

I'm serving a mission in The Phillipines. I play basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play basketball. I didn't get to play for my high school because they were ranked nationally and I wasn't quite good enough. I'm not going to college right now because I'm serving my Lord and Savior on a mission to the Philippines. I can't wait for college! I love hanging out with my friends, playing video games, dating girls, you name it! I like to longboard. I actually broke my collarbone longboarding two years ago. That was a painful experience. I love my family so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love it with all my heart and I love everything that it has taught and continues to teach me. I grew up a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My parents taught me the standards and values of the Mormon church when I was a little kid. Living the standards of the church has helped me stay out of so much trouble throughout the years. Doing so has brought me more joy than I believe that anything contrary to the standards possibly could. I love having good, wholesome fun with friends that love and care about me and what I believe in. I am a human, therefore I have made and continue to make mistakes. The Atonement of Jesus Christ has made it possible for me to be forgiven of my sins and to be made clean again. I am so grateful for the power of The Atonement. It amazes me that one person could have so much love and compassion for me that he would literally die for me so that I could be saved. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I love my family. Through Heavenly Father and Jesus's plan, I know that if I do what The Lord has taught, I can live with my family forever. What more could you ask for than to be with the ones you love for eternity?

How I live my faith

I attend my regular church meetings. I look for opportunities to serve my fellow man all the time. I always want to be helping people. It brings me joy! I love the look on someone's face that you've just served. There is always someone that you can help out. I pray every day that I can find someone that needs help, notice them, and have the courage to offer my assistance.
