Hi I'm Kenzie Edstrom

I am a missionary in the Idaho Boise Mission. I am a Junior at BYU-Idaho. I love Idaho! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have two younger sisters and an older brother served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah. My brother and two sisters are my best friends. I love to be active. Working out is my stress reliever and volleyball is my favorite sport. Music is a very important part of my life. I love to play the piano and I also play the clarinet. I am enrolled as a junior in college and have a passion for the medical field. I've decided to take a break and serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and live as a representative of Christ for eighteen months. I have been called to the Idaho Boise Mission. Once I return to Brigham Young University-Idaho I hope to complete their Nursing Program and to become an Anesthesiologist . I grew up a Mormon and it has made me everything I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

Throughout my life I have been given direction, comfort, and purpose because of the importance of prayer that I have learned as I have grown up in this wonderful church. When I has in high school, I had just moved to a new town and therefore a new high school...everything was new. This was a very challenging time in my life. I felt alone and forgotten. One night, during my regular nighttime prayers (something I learned from my parents) I asked my Heavenly Father if He was really there. There is no doubt in my mind that at that instant Heavenly Father answered my prayers in a very vivid way. I am a Mormon because I love what this religion teaches about the power of prayer and personal revelation. I know that God does speak to us individually. He is there and He loves us. I know that this is the true church of God because the Spirit of God has told me so. I know that God answers prayers. The Bible and the Book of Mormon are real and applicable to each individual. I know that I am proud of the person I am today because of commandments of God that I have tried my best to keep and the high standard of living that I have learned through the gospel of Jesus Christ. With the gospel of Jesus Christ I feel the comfort and peace that some people search their whole lives for. It is my light in a dark and troubled world.

How I live my faith

I do my best to be the best I can be everyday. I work hard to be unselfish and try my best to stay clear of temptations. My motto is NO REGRETS. It's not exactly original but I live my faith in such a way so that when I go to sleep every night I can say with full conviction there's nothing about my day that I regret. I try to remember the generations I've come from and the posterity that will come after me. This helps me to make unselfish choices as I think about how every decision I make will affect my future and the people that will be apart it. My decision making process also involves the people that have come before me who have helped me to become the person I am today. I want nothing more then to make them proud, disappointing them is out of the question. But after all is said and done the biggest contribution I strive to make is being a good example by living the commandments of God. I know God gives me such commandments in order to help me be truly happy because He loves us and knows me better then I know myself. I live my faith by doing my best to follow the only perfect example I have, the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ.
