Hi I'm Alison

I adore beautiful music. I'm a writer and a friend. I love rivers, rain, mountains, flowers, and adventure. I am Mormon.

About Me

I'm a teenager and I love the gospel! I have a Golden Retriever and I love her. I enjoy running and being fit. I am passionate about life. I love hiking and enjoying the beautiful world Christ, under the direction of Father in heaven, made. I play the cello, piano, guitar, and a little ukulele, I also sing. I dearly love my family, especially my three older brothers. They have made a huge impact on my life and I love them. I have a strong testimony of service. You love who you willingly serve. I also have a strong testimony of music. It can bring the spirit and enrich your life it its good music, if not, it can really damage you. Music is one way that I love to share my testimony. I've had some pretty tough challenges, for which I am so grateful. I've dealt with the death of loved ones as just a little kid. I've had dark, long days. I'm sure we all have. Depression can be quite a struggle; but because of these trials and things associated with them, I've come to love Proverbs 3:5-6 and Moroni 7. I love my older brother, Jesus Christ. I know my Father in Heaven lives and loves me. He is the Light and Life of the world. He is the Prince of Peace. He knows me personally. I am so grateful for the Holy Ghost and the comfort, guidance and constant companionship of him. I'm so very grateful for my patriarchal blessing, that is one way that I know he knows me personally. I know that I want to serve a mission, and I am so excited for that time!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the gospel, with a family that was very firm in the gospel. My oldest brother set an amazing example for me. At first, when I was younger, it was about living up to up to our family name. Now, over time, through experience, fervent questioning and answered prayers, its about living up to the standards of a daughter of God. There have been many things that have played a role in my love for, and belief in the gospel. First was the trek, it felt like how I imagine heaven, everyone cared more about the other people than themselves, it helped me to understand what true love is. Even though I'm sure the trek barely compares, it gives me a bit more understanding of how incredibly much my Father in Heaven and brother Christ really love me. Another thing for me was my patriarchal blessing. I had a lot on my mind, and a specific question that I really wanted to understand and feel peace about. I did not tell my patriarch about this, but yet, in my blessing, it was directly, and specifically answered. I knew in that instant, and through the rest of my blessing, that God really does know me, even better than I do, and cares so much for me. In times when I feel lost, and confused, I turn to him and ask him to hold my broken heart together with his loving, hands and give me the strength to carry on with his work, because I know he understands perfectly how I feel. Something else that helped me to come to him, was the future I knew I wanted, not just in this life, but in the life to come. I know the family I long to have in the future, can last for the rest of eternity. His incomprehensible love for me, and his desire for me to have the righteous desires of my heart, his grace and mercy, make me want to cry sometimes. I know, with out a doubt in my mind, that this is the true church. God lives, he loves and understands me. I know that because of Christ I can be forgiven for my many sins. I know there's a planed life after this. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live the gospel by just being me. I try to live worthy to be called a good and faithful servant of Christ, to be married in the temple someday, and to eventually be worthy to return home to our Father. I love the spirit felt in the House of the Lord; so I go to the temple as often as I can. I strive to live by the promptings of the Holy Ghost, the words of the prophet and scriptures. I try to have the Holy Ghost with me and be able to brighten someone’s day. I keep myself clean and pure and live with charity. I pray to be a humble instrument in the hands of the Lord. I only listen to uplifting music, I keep my language and thoughts clean. I'm trying to learn to be like the Savior. I live by the standards in the book, For the Strength of Youth. I try to read my patriarchal blessing every day. Serving others and doing my best every day to become like Christ is what makes me happy.
