Hi I'm Julia

I grew up in Utah. I love to run. Live in Tokyo, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Julia, I am from the snowy mountains of Utah. I am currently going to college and studying Communication Disorders in hopes to someday be a Speech Pathologist and help children who struggle with their speech. One of my favorite things to do is run, it's the best stress reliever for me. I ran Cross Country and Track in high school, and loved feeling like I was a part of a team. I also have enjoyed clogging (which is a type of dance) and have loved competing for 11 years. I love to spend time with my family. I am the oldest of 4 girls (no brothers) so I am very close with my sisters, they are my best friends! Traveling is another one of my favorite things to do. A few years ago I was able to go to Peru on a humanitarian trip and visit villages and orphanages in the High Andes. It was the most amazing experience of my life. Being able to visit a new country and experience a new culture was unbelievable! I will go back someday. I am currently serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tokyo, Japan. It has been an amazing experience thus far, sharing the gospel with others!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know without a doubt in my mind or my heart that this is the only true church on the earth. I have asked God for myself if this is His church and if it is true and I have received a very strong confirmation of the spirit that it is! I raised as a Mormon, but my grandparents were both converts to this church. They are great examples to me, and I'm so grateful that they joined this church because my family and I have been so blessed because of their decision. I am a Mormon because it brings me great happiness in my life knowing that I always have a Father in Heaven who is there for me always to answer my prayers. It also brings me great comfort knowing that Jesus Christ is my Savior and atoned for my sins so that I can return back to my Heavenly Father someday. Knowing where I came from before being here on Earth, knowing what my purpose is here on Earth, and knowing what will happen to me after being here on Earth, brings me great happiness and comfort. I have answers to many life questions. Knowing that someday I will be able to be reunited with my family and loved ones, and being with them for eternity makes me very very happy because I love my family so much. Because I know all this is true, I continue to live my life in the way I know I should so that I can have all these blessings and more for eternity. I can't imagine my life without the gospel I am so happy with it in my life, and that is why I have dedicated the past year of my life to come to Japan and share this message to those who have not yet heard of the happiness that they could obtain by joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am a Mormon and I love it!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every Sunday. When I was a kid I would go because I knew I was supposed to, but as I got older I realized how much I NEED church in my life! Everyday is filled with a million things we need to do, every week is filled with things we need to do. By the time Sunday comes I love going to church and listening to the messages and feeling the relaxing and renewing feelings I feel to help me get through the week. I live my faith through striving to follow Jesus Christ's example. I try to do what He would do by loving, helping, and serving others. I even live my faith through smiling because of my faith in Jesus Christ I am happy! Right now as a missionary, I live my faith by talking with people and sharing with them the message of this gospel. Everyday I have the opportunity to share with people the experiences that I have had that have lead me to know God lives and loves me. For the past year I have lived in Japan far away from my family, meeting so many amazing people! I am so grateful for the opportunity I have had to be a missionary and share a message that has made me so happy!
