About Me

I joined the church with my husband Norman 39 years ago when I was 22 years old. The missionaries knocked on our door one busy morning and the rest is history. So grateful for the knock it changed our lives for the better. I have 3 sons 5 grandchildren I love being a homemaker.I retired from work about five years ago I did various jobs over the years hairdresser, waitress, sales assistant. I keep myself busy I enjoy walking my dog, cooking, most types of craft work and serving my Heavenly Father. The church has given us lots of opportunities to help others and to get help when we needed it. Norman retired from work a few months ago and we are going to serve a mission for the church in Canterbury England June 2014. We are so excited to help share the gospel and give more of our Heavenly Fathers children the opportunity to learn about the church.

Why I am a Mormon

Before the missionaries knocked on our door all those years ago I believed in God but did not really understand Him I was quite frightened of the thought of hell and damnation. The gospel has given me so much hope and a belief that there is much more than this life. I truly believe we have a loving Heavenly Father who has a plan for each one of us, that we lived as spirit children with God before we came to earth. The gospel teaches we wanted to experience the joy and challenges of this life. I believe there is life after death that we go home to our Heavenly Father and we can meet up again with our love ones who went before us. I truly believe our Heavenly Father sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to ransom for our sins. That Jesus died on the cross so we can all live with our Heavenly Father again. The church has helped me so much over the years especially when we have had to make big decisions in our lives. It has been a wonderful help to us when the boys were younger and we needed to have rules and guidelines for them to follow. I know our Heavenly Father and Jesus loves each one of us and it is never to late to join the church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be obedient to the laws and commandments in the scriptures. Our Heavenly Father does ask us to lead good moral lives and to be honest and truthful in our dealings with other people. To be kind and considerate to others, to have respect for the Godhead and our neighbor. We do try to pray and read our scriptures everyday. It is not always easy BUT IT IS WORTH IT. I can honestly say He asks us to do these things because he loves us and knows it will help us have a more happy fulfilling life. I love the gospel it is great to be able to go to church and know there are people there who care about me and my family. We have lots of good times together as well as our churchy lessons we have good fun activities without drink or drugs. Over the years the church has given me lots of opportunities to serve others, to learn new skills, to meet lots of interesting people. There is no class barrier we are all equal in the site of God and each other. I could go on but all I will say is GIVE THE CHURCH A TRY it will be worth it. I love My Heavenly Father and His son our Savior Jesus Christ. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that we have a living prophet Thomas S. Monson on the earth today.
