Hi I'm Juan

I was born in El Salvador, grew up in California, and I am serving a mission in Chicago Illinois, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the third of four children in my Family. My mom raised my older brother and sister and my younger sister and I all by her self. I love to play basketball and football and just about any other sport there is out there even though i might not be really good at them.I like to go camping and exploring new places on the mountains around me. I like to help people and like to work hard for the things I want. I graduated High School 2012 and attended BYU-Hawaii for a semester. Above all, I love to spend time with family and friends and just sit back and crack jokes with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because of many reasons. The simplest reason is because following their beliefs and guidelines has made me a better person and has brought peace to my mind. The best reason however is that living the Gospel of Jesus Christ has allowed me to be closer to my Heavenly Father. It has given me more freedoms than restrictions and has revealed to me many answers that many people wonder about. For example there is the Plan of Salvation which tells us where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going. By being a mormon I have recieved the Gift of the Holy Ghost and have been able to receive the blessings that come from like Guidance, protection, and personal revalation. Being Mormon has showed me that I am a Child of God and that he loves me. Being Mormon has helped me learn what I need to do to show gratitude for the many blessings that I have recieved in my life and has showed me how to live a better life so that I may one day return to live in Gods presence. Most importantly Being Mormon has showed me that I should be happy with all things because it is Gods will and our Fathers will is not to make us angry or upset but rather to help us be happy and have joy in life.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all of my life. I live my faith by serving people around the communities. As a young man i was able to provide much physical labor as service for people who can't necessarily do things on their own. i have done things from mowing lawns to planning, cooking, and serving elderly dinner. i have also helped my fellow youth by being a youth leader and an example. Most importantly I like to help individual by listening to their stories and helping them see what they could do for themselves to make themselves happier.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Juan
We can know that Mormonism is true by putting it to the test!! In the Book of Mormon Alma chapter 32 it talks about putting all things to the test. It compares "Faith" to a seed. If we plant these things and we really want them to work then if and only if it is a good seed, or a true Church. Once we put it to the Test we must pray and ask God if this is his true Church or some other church. We have to do our part though by reading the Book of Mormon, applying its teachings, or planting that seed, and then asking our Heavenly father if what we are doing is the True path. We will know though our thoughts feelings and impressions. if they're good feelings and thoughts and impressions since all good things come from God then it must be true. if you feel unease and not good then you know that Mormonism is not true. Put it to the test that's what I did and I know its true with all the energy in my soul. :) Show more Show less
