Hi I'm Patrick

I grew up Maine on hockey and lobster, I'm now living in the desert and training to be an architect, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm finishing a masters program in architecture at Arizona State University in May 2013, and then I'm so excited to see how life unfolds and blooms to meet the sun in the morning of my future. Its such a blessing to trust my future to a loving Heavenly Father who will lead me wherever I need to be to find joy for myself and service to others. When I'm not studying, which is rare during this time in my life, I love devouring anything art or design or architecture related (museums, shows, exhibits, being inspired by friends) and I enjoy spending time with friends and family, meeting great new people from all walks of life who fundamentally change the person I am, and snuggling with some rascally fur-ball pups who cover me in fur and love.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a convert so this is an especially poignant question because I chose this, and was chosen for this. I am a Mormon because its the truest assembly of the Church of Jesus Christ on the Earth today; because its the most accurate translation of Bible doctrine enabled into the structure and community Heavenly Father intended for us to have as both support (for us) and service (for everyone). It is a church where I (individually) find the support to grow in my faith and knowledge and love of Christ, while simultaneously finding the support to provide and contribute to the world through service and action - the most Christ-like thing we can ever emulate! Many Christian churches contain wonderful portions of these abilities, and their efforts are awesome and so influential to making this world a better place. And the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the largest and most interconnected community of aligned members faithfully executing the will and desires of the Lord on the Earth today.

How I live my faith

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is meant to be carried with us everywhere and passed along through word and example. I live my faith by constantly striving to maintain my connection with the Lord through scripture study, prayer, and church / institute attendance, replenishing my connection to God's spirit, thriving upon all He would have me know and do. There are certainly times when this is difficult, and times when balance fails and 'the world' encroaches upon us, but the blessings of the Lord are strong, and the spirit is always there waiting for us to reconnect and fill our cups with God's love.
