Hi I'm Zac

I grew up in Erda, Ut. I was a 4-H State Winner in Sewing. I love being with family and friends. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hi! I am a young adult who is will be serving a mission starting in April of 2013-2015. I will be serving in the Porto Alegre North, Brazil Mission. I love 4-H, because it helps me to develop skills and talents that I never knew that I had. In 4-H I competed more in the Family Consumer Science side of things and specifically sewing. I also am a part of the Utah 4-H Collegiate Club and I am a 4-H volunteer and I often teach a lot of youth about sewing and other project areas. I was attending college at Utah State University, but I have set my education aside for a little while I am on my mission. My family reunions are probably some of my favorite events, because there are so many people. On my dad's side there were 12 children and we have over 80 cousins. Needless to say there is always something going on. One weird thing about me that most people probably would not know is that I believe if you put on a pair of socks at the beginning of the day, then take them off in the middle of the day. When you put them back on you should put the one that was on your left foot back on your left foot and the one that was on your right back on your right. I also love to go running and be active! That is pretty much who I am!!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ and His church. I make this choice, because it really does bring the ultimate happiness and that is why I love to share it. I know that Joseph Smith really was visited by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and I know Joseph was a prophet chosen by God. I know The Book of Mormon is true, that it testifies of Christ and is a companion to the bible. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet of our church today and he was chosen by God to lead His church. I also know that Christ suffered for my sins so I could return to live with my Heavenly Father someday. I know that my family can be together forever because of the temples and the sealing power within them. I simply am a Mormon because it helps me to come unto my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

In the Church as an adult I was one of the teachers who taught the men in our ward while I was attending college. I also attend Institute classes outside of church that help me understand more about gospel doctrines, principles and the scriptures. I love being with people and so I always enjoy meeting people who do not really understand that they are a child of God and that every single one of us has so much potential. We just need to see ourselves the way God sees us. I choose to include everybody, because I like to view others the way that God does. I also am not afraid to share who I am, and part of who I am is my church. I have the opportunity to travel around quite a bit because of 4-H, and I will never leave one of my travels without telling someone that I run into about my beliefs, who I am and what I stand for. I also love to serve the people in my community through a variety of service projects as well as just my ward and stake.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Baptism is a saving ordinance, it is one all of us need! So since some people who may have passed away before they had that opportunity, we can do it for them. They still have choose whether or not to accept the baptism and to follow our Heavenly Father, we do not forced people to be baptized we just give them the opportunity to choose it so they can live with our Father in Heaven again.
