Hi I'm Chelby

I've been born and raised in Arizona! I will graduate as valedictorian of my high school. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised LDS. IT wasn't until I reached high school that I finally understood what the gospel does for me. I balanced honors and AP classes with dance competition and performance rehearsals. I love being with my family and love hanging out with my twin at school and outside school. I spend hours each day doing homework and love to do so! I also like to play the piano! I am preparing right now to graduate high school. I just finished my application to BYU and plan to go there to enter medicine later on in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born and raised LDS, I never really understood what was so great about the church. That was until I reached high school. Through attending seminary and joining young women, I have gained such a strong testimony of the gospel of Christ. Each day in my life, I have come to recognize the role Christ has in my life. I came to know of the truthfulness of the church when I felt lost. I was always angry and stressed. Through the encouragement of my parents and from the counsel given in church meetings, I searched the scriptures for some words to bring me comfort. I learned through the scriptures that I am a daughter of God that holds immeasurable value. Dance took up a lot of my time and prevented me from attending mutual. After dancing with a back injury for five years, I reached a point where my body could no longer dance. After much prayer and what can only be classified as wrestling with God, I knew I had to quit dance and start a new chapter of life. After leaving dance, I became more active in my ward. I learned how to better recognize all that my Heavenly Father does for me. Over time, I have seen how leaving dance has been a blessing in my life. I could focus better in school and take time to hang out with friends and develop better friends. Through small and simple experiences, I have learned that I have a God in heaven that loves me. And it was through the scriptures in the Book of Mormon that have taught me that there is no other church that could capture the amount of love that God has for each one of His individual children.

How I live my faith

I am currently a member of the young women organization in my ward. I serve as the Laurel class president and serve on my seminary counsel at my school. I attend church and youth activities frequently and love the atmosphere that exists at these activities.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Like the church says, communicate with God. He loves us and wants to talk to us frequently. Through prayer, we can speak to God. Through the scriptures, He speaks to us. He has given us so much on this earth and will give us anything we might ask for. Ask with a pure intent to know if God loves you, He will answer through the power of the Holy Ghost.
