Hi I'm Janessa

I'm from Pleasant Grove, Utah. I love Oreos, playing card games, and simply having fun. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a student at Brigham Young University majoring in Family Life and studying non-profit management. I'm a huge fan of family and find joy in helping others. However, playing games, going on bike rides, and spending time with my nieces and nephews are some of my absolute favorite things to do. I also love dance, learning new things, and being outside. Oreos and chocolate chip cookies are an essential part of life, but anything that has to do with having fun is pretty great too. I feel that life is to be enjoyed and every minute of every day is a blessing that should be cherished.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because of the truthfulness and happiness that accompanies being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There is no greater peace or comfort that anything in this world can offer that could be compared to the joy and absolute sanctity that comes with being a Mormon. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the foundation that I have strived to build my life upon. The restored gospel and all the teachings that accompany this great work have helped me find purpose in life and have directed the type of person that I want to become. I know that we are all children of a loving Heavenly Father. A Heavenly father that loves us and knows us each individually. A Heavenly Father that truly hears and answers our prayers. I have felt of His love and have experienced His hand stretched forth in some of the most difficult times of my life. I have a testimony that has been strengthened immensely and has become a big part of who I am; a testimony that may be simple, but has directed my life through some the hardest trials that I have ever faced. I know that Christ loves us and wants to see us become the very best that we possibly can. He wants us to succeed in life. Every experience we go through, whether great or small, only helps us become better and encourages us to reach our full potential. Every challenge we face, every difficulty we go through only makes us stronger and gives us an opportunity to grow. I know that as we constantly strive to do our best, we will blessed for our efforts. I know who I am; a daughter of God, a Latter-day Saint. I know that Christ died and suffered for my all my sins. He was crucified so that I may live again and enter into the presence of my Heavenly Father. I love my Savior with all of my heart, and I know that it is through Him that everything is made possible. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Although I am trying to follow the perfect example of Jesus Christ and the legacy that He so eloquently left behind, it is difficult to reach that absolute perfection and excellence. Life is hard sometimes and it is not always easy to obtain that flawlessness. Through daily scripture study, prayer, and regular attendance of my church meetings, I am able to live my faith and renew my commitments to follow Jesus Christ. I live a very ordinary life. I go to school five days a week and work in-between my classes, but luckily, for me, I have the ability to serve others and help those who are need of comfort on a daily basis. Because of the principles that I learned through the gospel, I am able to aid others and assist them on their journey through life. However, I think that the biggest way I live my faith is simply by trying to be the best possible version of myself on regular basis. Nothing speaks louder than the example you set for others.
