Hi I'm Donna

I grew up in Alberta, joined the Church in 1973 and am looking forward to serving a full-time mission in the Philippines

About Me

I worked part-time as a dental hygienist but the most important work was within the walls of my own home. My husband and I had five wonderful children. He has passed away but our family now has grown to include 17 grandchildren. My husband and I joined the Church after our second child. I do handiwork, read and keep fit.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had faith in God and read the Bible but just did not feel that the churches answered my questions. My husband got a job in a small town so when we moved our family to an apartment there it was a new opportunity for us. But, this small town did have a reputation because of the type of industry that was there. I was concerned about teaching my children to be good, and kind, to not smoke, drink alcohol and take drugs. That was when I met the young couple who moved into the suite just below us and would be there for 2 months before going back to Utah. We invited them up to watch Walt Disney and share some apple juice. The next day I asked about the church and discovered that a new missionary couple had moved into the basement suite. My husband and I joined the church 2 months later and I have always been grateful for the wonderful blessings which we have received. The Church has made me a better person, wife, mother and daughter.

How I live my faith

I love to serve and the Church has given me many opportunities to do this and meet many wonderful people. Most recently I have taught the 3 year olds at church and love it. Also, during the last 8 years I have volunteered at the church employment center, the LDS family services office and the temple.
