Hi I'm Rebecca

I'm from Virginia. I am a future missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 5 kids. My free time I like cooking, hanging out with friends, and just having fun. I absolutely love to travel and see new places, and cultures. I will be serving a mission in the Philippines speaking Tagalog. I am currently studying Communication Disorders at Brigham Young University and hoping I still want to continue it once I get back. I have always loved sports and music. I played different sports all my life, most notably lacrosse. I adore singing and the joy that comes with it. I love being random and having a blast with my friends. I can't wait to serve my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have lived my entire life in the church, I can never picture my life any different. It is a part of who I truly am. I have always known the church is true, but recently I have realized the magnitude it has had in my life. Everything I do and everything I am trying to become is because of my beliefs in this gospel. While I make plenty of mistakes, I know that the love of my Savior and my knowledge of the reality of the Atonement allows me to be clean in the sight of God. Christ's Atonement has become one of the greatest blessings in my life as I learn and grow. The Atonement is real. It is personal. And Christ did it for me. There is no better feeling than this. I am learning more and more of the truthfulness of the statement that "I am a Child of God". That I am the literal spirit daughter of my Father in Heaven and have the potential to be like him. I have seen the love of my Heavenly Father in everything I do and I know that he directs me to make better. I testify that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. That it is for our day to help us. I am so grateful for the book and for the joy and understanding it brings to me. I know that Joseph Smith restored God's church once again to the earth in its entirety. We claim and I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is the only true church established on the earth. Thomas S. Monson leads and guides this church as a prophet who is the mouthpiece of God on the earth. I know these things to be true as I have prayed to know for myself. I have received that witness myself, which is why I am able to say, with all certainty, that this church is true.

How I live my faith

Being miles from home, I am in student ward at BYU. It has been a huge blessing in my life as my ward is almost all young, single adults. Within my ward, I currently help plan and execute activities for the women in the ward. Recently, we have planned a dance at an assisted living facility with the guys in the ward. We were able to have one of funnest nights that I can remember just getting to know the people there, dancing and singing! Before organizing these activities, I had been asked to be in a leadership position for the women in the ward. This was such a blessing as I have learned so much more about myself and the gospel.
