Hi I'm Clemencia

I grew up in Los Angeles, CA. I worked as a receptionist, time keeper, etc. I am a grandmother. I am a Mormon!!

About Me

I married my high school sweetheart. I bore three beautiful girls. I was baptized at the age of 10 years old in Los Angeles, CA. I attended a Spanish speaking branch in Los Angeles, CA. I raised my three wonderful daughters and taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. They went through all the youth prgrams in the church. My oldest daughter served a mission west spanish american mission. My daughters and my twelve grandchildren are my greatest treasures. I served a mission with my husband Bonifacio in Arequipa, Peru in 1979 where we served in welfare services mission. We became very close with the people of Peru. After all the adversity that my husband and I faced, at the conclusion of our our mission. We were united as one. Barney passed away suddenly of a heart attack. I was worried about him being spiritually prepared to meet his Lord. I had a dream where he handed me a small chest full of precious jewels. That testified to me that he was fully prepared to meet the Lord Jesus Christ. I served another mission on my own in Tampa, Florida. My mission president was Norval Jesperson. I served the great people of Florida for 18 months. I feel really blessed to have grown up in the church to guide me in the rightful way of the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was 10 years old. I had moved to Mexico to live with my Aunt who lived in Los Angeles, CA. She and her family had joined the church a few years earlier, when they listened to the missionaries who were holding a street meeting on First and Rowan Ave in LA. It didn't take long for mama decided it would be good for us to be baptized in the church too. Once when I was in High School, some friends asked me a questions about my religion, primarily about the Book of Mormon. I answered as best I could, but began to ponder and have doubts. Went to my Uncle and asked him to tell me if the Book of Mormon was true. He said to me, "hija, I tell you it is true, but you have to find out for yourself." He told me to read the Book of Mormon every night and pray. I obtained such a strong belief that no one could cause me to doubt its truthfulness ever again. Through the years I have read it many times, and each time I read it I find other truths I had not captured before. I believe in the Bible to be the word of God. Our Savior Jesus Christ came to earth and taught all His gospel. I believe also that our Lord Jesus Christ came to this continent as a resurrected being and taught his gospel. the truths in the Book of Mormon were written for us in our days as guidelines. This is how I live my faith, through my testimony of the Book of Mormon and its guidelines lead me in the way I walk my path to return to my Father in Heaven. Thanks for reading this.

How I live my faith

After we came home from our Mission in Peru., we took up life where we left off. Barney (my husband) got back into his work and I back into dressmaking. A spanish branch had been re-organized in our area (La Puente, CA). I wanted to attend, Barney wanted to stay in our ward. After much persuasion he decided to let me go to the small branch. The Stake president had come to our home and Barney to serve as the ward clerk in the spanish branch which was a blessing in disguise. He served with his whole heart in that capacity. Heavenly Father called him home, he had another assignment him. I don't know what that is yet. After his death, I had a big home and found some people who wanted a room to rent. My home became what my daughter called the "half-way house".We became a family. We went to church , had family home evenings, prayers (sometimes), and got along fine. I later went on to serve a mission in Tampa, Florida. My first companion worked me hard. The very first morning we went out knocking doors and giving out Books of Mormon. I loved serving the Lord in Florida. I believe with all my heart that our Lord Jesus Christ is at the head of this church. We have a prophet and we have apostles who under the Lord's direction guide us through this life. This is the only true church upon the face of this earth. By living the principles we can have eternal life. This is my message and I am grateful for this opportunity to share with you.
