Hi I'm Karla

I'm a Pennsylvania cowgirl with more hobbies than I can keep up with, and feel life should be exciting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Some things about me; I live for my horses, family, and friends. I love being outdoors doing several equine activities including trick riding, gaming, and trail, SCUBA, skiing (water and snow), boating, target shooting (love my guns), playing drums and learning bass guitar, traveling, and trying new things. I work as an accounting manager, went to school for accounting and political science, and just opened a small Paso Fino farm. I married a wonderful man who is my complete other half and had the opportunity to build our own home/ farm together. I grew up with a Baptist mother and an agnostic father who is also a scientist. I think very analytically and never believed in any sort of religion growing up. However, after researching dozens of religions from around the world I came to truly feel that the closest thing to truth this world holds today is in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it logically made sense to me. I researched many religions and have come to the conclusion that the most accurate gospel on this earth is that of this church. I have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ that is ever growing and a continually developing understanding. I had a very challenging conversion that took course over the period of 12 years before my baptism. I refused to be baptized until every one of my questions were answered satisfactorily and I could understand and honestly make that commitment to heavenly father. I feel that baptism is among the most serious and important decisions of ones life and I would not enter into it lightly, especially since the consequences were greater than anything man could conceive. I love the gospel and what it teaches. It has truly been one of the greatest things I have done for myself. One of the best things about the church is that everyone is encouraged to learn, research, question, ponder, read, and pray about every thread of it. It is a gift that never stops giving, and even as rebellious and stubborn as I can be I am eternally grateful to those who devoted so much time and energy to teaching me, and I hope that I can return the favor by doing so for someone else some day.

How I live my faith

I believe the best way to live my faith is to be the best example I can be to those around me. I resent hippocracy, and therefore have little tolerance for the concept of claiming I believe on thing and living another. To follow Christ is to live by his example, and to not just praise him. I live as best as I can and understand that we all make mistakes in life, and what our Heavenly Father wants for is us to never give up and to continue trying to improve and perfect ourselves since he never gives up on us. I attend church on Sunday, not because of pressure or appearance, but because I desire to be there for myself. I do all I can to help those around me to the best of my ability, and believe that the character of a person is judged by what they can do for those that may do nothing for them. It is important to me to do what I can to help the church and those desiring to learn about it. I love the opportunity to share the gospel with others because I know what it means to me.
