Hi I'm Christian Winn

I'm a snowboarder who spends the summers as a lifeguard. I'm honored to serve in Uruguay for two years. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I like snowboarding and swimming. Last summer I moved to California to work as a lifeguard. At the end of the summer I went to college and had a blast with my roommates while preparing for a degree in civil engineering. In November I received my mission call to the Great Montevideo West, Uruguay Mission. The best mission in the world. I moved back in with my parents to prepare for that mission. I became a chef at my local ski resort so that I could get a season pass and now I spend my time that I'm not preparing on snowboarding. I leave March 13 to the MTC in Argentina and can't wait to serve the people.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There are so many opportunities to better yourself by aligning your life with his teachings. I am a Mormon because it has blessed my life. I work at a ski resort, and so getting Sunday off is unheard of. It is one of our busiest days. My childhood friend Zack had his farewell in February one of the busiest months. I fasted (went without food and water for a day to receive righteous wants) to get it off. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but sure enough Sunday was off on the schedule. I know the Lord blessed me so that I could make it to Zack's farewell. When I was four my mother had a feeling from the Holy Ghost that she should go check on me. She told herself that if she checked on me every time she was worried she would never get anything done. Then the Spirit told her again and she went to the balcony to find me crawling over the railing using a chair. she caught me by my overalls just as I went over. My mothers ability to listen to the spirit saved my life. These miracles are part of the reason I am a part of this Church, but the biggest reason is that I love God's plan for us. I love the fact that I can improve my self and be forgiven through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. This Gospel is true and you can put it to the test. My name is Christian and I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

For the past year I have recorded 100% home teaching. I haven't been blessed with a calling due to my moving every four months, but I try to teach all by the way I live. I love the quote "teach all, and when necessary use words." At work I am not allowed to teach religion, but I can talk about it if people ask, so actions are a big part of my missionary work.
