Hi I'm Katie Wirig

I love music. I enjoy studying psychology. I was a finalist at the Miss America pageant. I am a mother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah and love everything about that beautiful state. I married my next door neighbor after years of friendship and we have three beautiful children together. I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience and I have a Master's degree in Psychology as well. When I was in my early twenties I competed in the Miss America Pageant and was a top 10 finalist. I love music and I play both the violin and piano and run a studio out of my home, where I teach both instruments. Since becoming a mother I have found more joy in this role than anything else. Even though I loved traveling, public speaking and modeling when I was younger, I would take an ordinary day with my three little children over that any day.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me more joy than I can express. Without a knowledge of my Heavenly Father, I would be without the peace that I feel today. I cannot deny the blessings that continually come to me and my family from a loving Father in Heaven. When I live his teachings I feel happy and I feel peace. When I go against the teachings of Christ I do not. Everyday I thank my Father in Heaven that I have a knowledge of this gospel. I know that there are so many people who are searching for the truth and I feel so grateful that I feel my Savior's love and can read from the holy scriptures daily. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints makes me happy and brings peace to my life. It's as simple and as beautiful as that.

How I live my faith

I believe that you live your faith through your everyday actions. I believe that it is in the small things that big changes happen. I serve in my LDS ward with the youth, but have done many things in music, teaching, administration and other callings. I believe that some of the best thing we can do to serve is to serve in our own homes. I try to be a patient mother to my children, I try to love them through every hardship and trial and I work daily on maintaining a happy marriage with my husband. The family is where true joy lies and the gospel of Jesus Christ, restored through Joseph Smith, has taught me the importance of family. Living my faith is not a one time thing, it is a life style, that I put effort toward every minute of my life.
