Hi I'm Maryann

I'm a Wife, Mom and Grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in southern California. I met my husband at the top of the Palm Springs Tramway. After finishing college, my husband and I raised our five children in Orange County. Our children and grandchildren live all over the country. I love crafting. My latest obsession is quilting. I also enjoy paper crafts. After taking classes at the local adult education center, I've also become pretty good at Photoshop, and hope to someday get more involved in restoring photos for those damaged by natural disasters. My husband and I are days away from leaving on a mission for the church to Australia. We will work with Young People in the city of Canberra. It will be an exciting and rewarding thing to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I am an active Mormon because I choose that for myself. Even though I grew up in the church, no one has forced me to continue to be a Mormon. I believe in the teachings of my church and have a testimony of it's truthfullness. It brings to me the true joy and happiness that I believe comes from living the teachings of Jesus Christ. I love my family and I believe in the eternal nature of the family. The church offers me an understanding of how this is possible for me. I have a testimony of the divine nature of our Savior, Jesus Christ and that he died and was resurrected for me. I'm so grateful for this atonement because I believe it will help me return to God.

How I live my faith

As many in the church, I was baptised when I was 8 years old. I have served in the church since I was 14 years old and taught little children about God. I gained a testimony of my faith in my years as a Young Adult and gained a personal relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have had many different opportunities to serve since then in the church since my youth, which helps me live my faith every day. For the last several years, my husband and I have worked with Young Adults and even served a part time local mission to a local college Institute...a gathering place for Young People near local collages where they can take religious studies and gather for social interaction. Our years of service with this fantastic group of young people has helped prepare us for our upcoming full time mission in Australia.
