Hi I'm Savannah

I'm an Arizona girl. I eat way too much ice cream. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my Arizona sunshine. I've lived in AZ since I was 3 and I never get sick of it. I'm the second oldest of 9 kids, I love my family so much. I played volleyball and ran cross country and track in high school and still love being active and running. I play piano and sing. I am now a student at BYU Provo, but may be transferring. I hope to major in Fashion Merchandising and minor in French, although that may change. I'm very excited about the fact that I have been called to serve as a missionary in the Virginia Richmond mission Spanish speaking!! I'm currently a dental assistant working at my dad's office, which I love. I also love to travel and plan on continuing my travels. I hope to hit up every continent before I die. I've always dreamed of being famous, but I've come to terms with the fact that I never will be! :) I love celebrities and live vicariously through them. I love One Direction so much, Harry Styles owns my heart forever. I'm obsessed with British people and wish I had an accent every single day of my life. I love fashion and shopping; I consider my style vintage and Audrey Hepburn-ish, although I wear anything I like. I love Marilyn Monroe, she is a beautiful person and I love reading about her life. I wear red lipstick a lot because it makes me feel fabulous. I'm kind of a history geek, shhhh don't tell. I love the beach so much and hope to live near one at some point in my life. I hate snow. I love to talk and sometimes I can't shut up. This is me!

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the church my entire life. My parents and grandparents were all members their entire lives as well, so I've been in the church for as long as i can remember. I can recall when I really started to feel for myself when the church was true. It was around 7th or 8th grade, about the time when I officially got into the habit of reading my scriptures daily and going to church not just because my parents wanted me to, but because I wanted to as well. I've felt the Spirit testify of the truthfulness of this gospel numerous times in my life and I know I can never deny it. I know I would be lost without this gospel and I know the only way to be happy is to have God at the center of your life. He is behind everything. I know he knows me personally and every single person on the earth and that He loves all of His children so much. I'm thankful for Jesus Christ and the sacrifices He made for all of us when he was crucified on the cross. I love the Book of Mormon and the stories it has. I'm thankful for the prophet Joseph Smith and I know he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God and that it is true. I love our prophet President Thomas S. Monson and know that he is a man of God and gives us the things that the Lord want His children to know. I love my family and know that we can be together forever. I know that Satan is real and that he will continually try to bring us down, but that if we will turn to Christ we can overcome any temptations the devil sends our way. I know that God hears our prayers and listens. I love my Savior and am so excited to serve a mission! Church is true!

How I live my faith

I love going to church every Sunday. It helps me reflect on my week and gives me the closeness to the Lord that I need in my life. I had church callings throughout my teen years where I worked with girls my age and made sure they were doing okay. It brought me closer to them and I made lasting friendships. In college, I was a family home evening leader, meaning I planned activities for my assigned group of people. We would meet every Monday night and it was a lot of fun. I feel like I could have done things better a lot of the time, but it was still a good time. Most recently, I was called to play piano during Primary, the part of church where all of the children ages 3 or 4 through 11 would meet and have lessons, as well and have singing time. I would play all of the music and it was my favorite part of church. It was so wonderful to be able to be around those sweet little spirits and hear them sing and watch them learn. I learned a lot from them and love them all so much. Aside from church, I try to go to the temple at least once a week before I leave on my mission. It's such a peaceful place and I love going inside. I read my scriptures daily, for the most part, and try to do the things I know I'm supposed to because I know they make me happy! Church is true!
