Hi I'm Haley

I love being in the mountains. I like to speak Spanish. I love being myself. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, but also lived in Bloomington, Indiana for 3 years. I love traveling. I especially love meeting new people and hearing their stories. To me it is important that I live my life authentically, so every day I am trying to make my own choices and to do the things that I feel are correct. I love being with my family and friends and I enjoy talking and laughing with them. I love being outside because it reminds me of God. I love dancing and I am learning to play frisbee. I served a mission in Panama and that experience changed my life. I love living! Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it feels right to me. It feels right to me because I am happiest when I believe. It also feels right to me because the fruits of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are good fruits (Mathew 7: 16-20). And being a Mormon feels right to me because it motivates me to be a better person. But most importantly, I am Mormon because I read the Book of Mormon and prayed and asked God to know if this is His truth. I didn't recognize His answer at first, in fact it took me years to recognize that He had answered me. But one day, when I was talking about the Book of Mormon my whole soul was filled with a surety of its truth. And then, I remembered many times when I had received answers to my prayers through the words of the Book of Mormon. In that moment I realized that I had received my answer a long time ago. In that moment I realized that I knew it was true and that this is Jesus Christ's true church.

How I live my faith

I try to live the gospel by doing those little things that I feel are good and right. I call that following the Spirit. I like talking to strangers while I'm walking to class. I like giving my friends little gifts when I think they are having a hard day. I like saying "Thank you!" to someone who has helped me. It makes me feel good. I also live the gospel by having hope. Hope means a lot of things to me. Sometimes it is giving myself a second chance. Sometimes it means being patient with someone else. And sometimes it means trusting that God is very aware of the things that are happening in my life and wants to help me to be happy.
