Hi I'm Kara

I'm a sophomore in college. I work as a certified nursing assistant and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I've been working on my Associates' degree and trying to find out what I want to do for a living. I enjoy listening to Country music, because it is the best! I love to sing, hike, camp, bike, fish and all sorts of other outdoor activities! I'm a full-time C.N.A. and I truly love my job! I get to connect with the elderly and listen to amazing stories. We get to compare how life was when they were growing up to how things are now.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church. I know that it has been restored to bring us back to live with our loving Heavenly Father again. I have a true testimony that He knows us personally, by name and He is waiting for us to come back home to Him. He will never leave us comfortless, and He blesses us in ways that are not always clear to us. There was a period in my life when I was the only active member of the Church in my family, and I know how hard it is to do the right thing. I struggled to stay active in the Church. My family would have family activities on Sundays, and that's where I wanted to be. The priesthood was no longer available in my household and home didn't feel like home. Since then, my mother has been re-baptized and my step-dad has been baptized into the church. My home has a different feeling about it again. The Spirit is happy to be in my house and I know that it is vitally important to me that I keep living the way I am now.

How I live my faith

I teach my peers in my singles' ward about the basics of our church. I also serve as a ward missionary and I try to reach out to whomever crosses my path. I enjoy taking trips to the Temple to feel the spirit and make sure my life is where I want it to be. My ward has Family Home Evening every Monday and we have an activity to help bring us closer as a "ward family."

Why is family so important to Mormons?

The family is the central sacred unit of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We came to this earth to learn how to live in a mortal family. We are able to listen, love, support, and in turn, learn from our family members. Our ultimate goal is to live with our Heavenly Father again, and of course we want our family to be able to live there with us. It is vital that we teach our family truth and righteousness in order for that to happen. Show more Show less
