Hi I'm McCaela :)

I am19. I love music, sports, I sing and play the piano. I LOVE basketball! Serving in the Buenos Aires west mission I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up with in the LDS faith. I was blessed with AMAZING parents who have always been faithful and true to the gosel. My dad has been the bishop twice. So I grew up with the eyes of our ward on ALL of my actions. When I was in high school I was fed up with people always telling me I couldn't do certain things, say certain words, or watch certain movies just because I was a mormon and even more importantly because my dad was the bishop. So I did those things, said those words, and I watched those movies. I thought by doing these things I was "sticking to them". At first I thought I was so cool, like I was having more fun than any of the goody goods in my ward or seminary classes. But the truth is that at the end of the day I would go home and I would have to lie to my parents about where I was or what I was doing. I went to church on sundays and would look around at all the people filled with the spirit and know that because of my choices I built a barrier between me and my Heavenly Father. I became mean and spitefull. Eventualy I graduated high school and I realized I wasn't happy with the person I had become. So for the first time in way too long, I went to my loving Heavenly Father. In Him and our Savior Jesus Christ I found the strangth to turn my life around. I found the testimony that I thought I had lost. I turned my feelings of hoplessness and dispare, to hope and happiness. The absolute JOY I found in the love of Christ is what I am most greatful for!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it is true. I know that Christ is our savior and I know that through is Atonement we can all be saved from our sins. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I know that he was called of God to restore this TRUE gospel to the Earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I've lived my life without the gospel and the happiness I thought I had is NOTHING compared to the joy and fullness I feel when I know I am livning my life the way my Heavenly Father would have me live. What else more would I need?

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. I am preparing to serve a mission:) a group of my friends and I get together each sunday and teach eachother lessons from the Preach My Gospel manual in preparation for our missions. We frequantly talk with eachother about spritual experiences and do not shy away from sharing them with our non-memeber friends (we also invite our non-member friends to our sunday study group) We always jump at the oprotunity to talk with anyone who may want to know more about our beliefs or share our feelings about the gospel. I always strive to live my life in a way that people expect me to be a member of the church, not to be suprised when I say I am.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

McCaela :)
Well when I look at beautiful things like a sunset, leaves in the fall, or the beautiful snow covered Utah mountains, or when I feel joy or love, or hear the first note of a newly tuned piano, I cant believe that they all happend by chance. Or that they happened because a star exploded millions of years ago. They would have to be the result of a Loving Heavenly Father taking time to create them for us. Show more Show less
