Hi I'm Cameron Collett

I grew up in Kaysville, Utah. Drums are a part of who I am. I love music and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old. I have played the snare on my high school drumline for four years and have been captain of the drumline for two years. I love music. It is a big part of my life. I love my family and friends and the support they give me. I am going on a mission to Canada and speaking French. Because of the age change, I am one of the two students from the senior class graduating early to serve a mission. I have a graduating class of a little more than 700. When I return in two years, I plan on going to school and discover how I can us my talents and passions to not only support my future family, but help grow the Kingdom of God on Earth as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church in a righteous family. I have been taught the principles of the gospel since I could remember. They have become a part of me and they have helped me make decisions throughout my entire life. When I have made decisions that I know were wrong, I have felt bad for them, but through the atonement, I have been able to feel my Father's love for me and I know that even when I make wrong decisions, He loves me more that anyone ever could. Through experiences in the church, I have found for myself that Christ performed the ultimate sacrifice for all of us. Not for just a the good people. Not even for just people that have done horribly bad things. He atoned for everyone's sins. All of them, big and small. And no matter what we've done, we can turn to our Savior and he will make us clean and pure and "will remember our sins no more". I am leaving on a mission to proclaim this to those lost in darkness, without the light of the knowledge that we can be forgiven of all of our sins, and bring them back to the fold where they can find comfort and joy. I am going to save the souls of men. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have been in all of my quorums' presidencies for all but a few months of my youth in the church. I go to seminary regularly. I participated in early morning seminary this last semester of school and have felt the spirit so strong in that class. It was a sacrifice to get up so early, but sacrifice brings forth the blessings of Heaven. I try to be a good friend to everyone and to set an example of Christ. Attending my Missionary Preparations class has been crucial for me and my decision to leave early on a mission. Preparing for a mission has changed me in so many ways. I have come closer to our Father in Heaven and to Christ and the spirit is much more abundant in my life.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Cameron Collett
Missionaries are great people. I myself am leaving on a mission and my goal is to become best friends with the people and with investigators and through acts of service and kindness and genuine concern, bring them closer to Christ and to show them that through his atonement and mercy, we can return with our families to our Heavenly Father completely clean and receive eternal life with those we love.
