Hi I'm Chase Willden

I am a Missionary and a Mormon

About Me

I am serving a mission. I am currently serving in the Texas Houston East Mission. I love the Lord and do my best to follow him.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. As a child I leaned on my parents beliefs and trusted them. But, as I became older and my understanding broadened I found out shortly that I did not know if the church I had been raised in was the truth. As I contemplated these things I decided to go right to the source of our church to find out for myself if the church was true, The Book of Mormon. I read it, I went down on my knees and I asked our Father in Heaven if these things were true. I received my answer. I testify that these things are true and that the Church that Jesus Christ established on the earth has been restored. There is a modern day prophet like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses. I love knowing these things and the comfort it brings in these latter days.

How I live my faith

Being a missionary really gives you a good perspective of the importance of living your faith daily. As a missionary we wake up at 6:30 every morning and we start with a prayer. Afterwards we get ready for the day and the first thing we do to start off our day is study the scriptures. That is very important to me. Being able to start off your day searching God's word to find out what you need to do throughout your day to serve him is such a blessing. Another way I live my faith is the simple decision I made to go on a mission. We leave behind our families for 2 years to help others find peace, joy, and happiness in their lives. We live a tight schedule so that we can bless those around us to the best of our abilities. I know that as I live my faith I have never been happier.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Chase Willden
Joseph Smith was born in 1805. In 1820 he had a question. He wanted to know what church was true. One day he came across a scripture in the bible. James 1:5 which reads, "If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him." After he read this scripture he knew in his heart what he needed to do. That is ask of God. He then went out into the woods, knelt down and asked Heavenly Father what church was true. This is what happened in Joseph Smith's words... I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun. Which descended gradually until it fell upon me. And when the light rested upon me, I saw two personages, who's brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name, and said pointing to the other, "This is my Beloved Son, hear him!" After this experience Jesus Christ told him that none of the church's were true. And later on Joseph Smith was given the golden plates and translated them into the book we call, The Book Of Mormon. Show more Show less
