Hi I'm Austin

I am a second child. I love playing the drum set. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town where the LDS population is quite large. At my high school the one seminary building would have up to 50 kids in one class. During my time there I enjoyed playing the drums in all of the bands and the Jazz choir as well as singing in the choirs.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the forgiveness and love of our savior Jesus Christ. Growing up in a semi-Mormon community I had plenty of role models and friends that I could have chosen to stick around but I didn't. During middle school and early high school I made friends with the wrong crowd and started doing things that I shouldn't. I rebelled and pushed the limit as often as I could, at school and at home. The last part of high school I changed and got new friends, but I still had lingering feeling of doubt and didn't really pay attention at church and sometimes play sick. Finally the year after I graduated an old friend from back in grade school invited me on a trip with his family. During this time I finally came to understand the sacrifice that the Savior made for us, and gained an eternal perspective of life. I realized that through the sacrifice the Jesus made for us we CAN and WILL live forever. Suddenly things were different for me. I repented of all the previous sins that I had committed and straightened up my act so that I could serve a mission. This testimony that I gained has changed my life forever.

How I live my faith

At home I have held several positions at church but my favorite by far was teaching the kids. My best friend growing up and I taught the 5 year old's for about a year and a half. It was really amusing watching them goofing off and being surprised by how perceptive they could be at times. As of now I am serving a full time mission for the church.
