Hi I'm Kyler

I grew up in the Salt Lake Valley. I love sports, friends, family, and being a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Kyler and I love and know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. I come from a family of 8. I have 2 younger sister, 2 younger brothers, one older sister, and then my parents. My parents raised us in the LDS Church. I am a fun out going person and love to be around people of all ages. I work with special needs children which tries my patience but the rewards are great. I love all kinds of music, specifically acoustic. My favorite music artists are Mat Kearney, Lee Dewyze, and Jack Johnson. Highly recommended! I love to play sports and stay fit. In high school I played football, basketball, and ran track. In high school I was Class President and always tried my best. I graduated from high school in May of 2012. After graduation I planned to go to BYU-Idaho and got accepted to go in January. So that fall I worked and took online classes. Then the announcement that young men could serve a mission at the age of 18 came so I decided to not go to BYU-Idaho so I could go serve. In March I report the Missionary Training Center (MTC) for six weeks and then I'm off the Buenos Aires, Argentina. Once I return, I plan on going to BYU-Provo and work towards becoming a Physical Therapist.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been a member and had a testimony of this church, but it wasn't up until my senior year of high school where I really gained a strong testimony and knowledge that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. Before that I knew, but I didn't have a firm testimony. I just went to church because that's how I was raised, and I'm so grateful for that. But at the start of my senior year of high school, I decided to really gain a testimony. So, I read the Book of Mormon fully for the first time and I knew and felt it was true through the spirit. I know that we are here on this earth for a reason. And that reason is to be tried and tested by our Heavenly Father to see if we will follow his commandments and strive to become like him. We are here to grow and learn, and one thing that I think people miss is simply we are here to be happy. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints brings true happiness into my life and I want to share this joy and happiness that comes from it. I know that our prophet Thomas S. Monson was called of God to be the head of this church and to help lead and guide it's members. It's hard to express how strong my belief in the Book of Mormon really is. I know, without a doubt, that it is true and that it contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and anyone seeking for truth, will find it in this book if they read it with a sincere heart. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church and leads to eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

Ever since I was a little child I have gone to the LDS Church. We are raised as little children in the church to be accountable and learn and grow from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A great program that tied along with our church was the Boy Scouts of America. This program is great for young men and requires service of them. In my church right now I was called to be a teacher for our Gospel Principles class for new or inactive members. I switch with another person so every other Sunday I teach principles of our church. I enjoy teaching and learn a lot. I will be serving a two year mission to Buenos Aires, Argentina in March. I am so excited and nervous! It will bring challenges but I know that I need to go out and share the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and the joy that comes from living it.

What is faith?

Faith is believing in something that you cannot see. It's not always easy, but having strong faith in God will help you in so many ways. If you have faith in God, you trust him with things that you need help with. Or even faith is believing that you can pray and talk to God about anything, and he will hear you. Your faith may not start out really strong because it needs to grow and be strengthened by prayer and reading the scriptures and following the teaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This action is essential for the growth of faith. If we have faith and do not act on it, it will die. Faith is simply trusting your Heavenly Father and that he will do what is best for you. What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Eternal life. What an amazing subject. We will all gain eternal life. We beleive that God has created a plan for us. This plan is called the Plan of Happiness. We chose to come to this earth. Because of this choice, we will all be receive eternal life, because of the love our Father in Heaven has for us. However, if we want to live with our Father in Heaven for eternity, there are things we must do in this life to acheive this. One of them is following the the commandments that Gods gives us. If we do the things that God asks us to do in this life, we will gain not only eternal life, but eternal joy and glory. Our Heavenly Father wants us to return to him. We cannot do this if we are not worthy. No unclean thing can enter into the kingdom of God. Only through the Gospel of Jesus Christ can we have this. I know that eternal life is real. I know that in order to live with our father in Heaven, we must do the things required in this life. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon and following the teachings of the gospel bring true joy. There can be many temporal or worldly things that make us happy. One thing that makes me happy is playing basketball, but this happiness isn't the same or doesn't last like the joy that comes from the gospel. We are here on this earth to learn, grow, and be happy. Being a Mormon is like standing out because you are doing what is right, and feeling good about it. And the spirit and joy that you feel is completely indescribable and you will learn to love it. Being a Mormon is fun. Show more Show less
