Hi I'm Matthew

I am a college student. I study economics and mathematics. I love politics and discussing the big issues. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student studying mathematics and economics. I love reading, watching too much television, spending time with family and friends, but most of all I love eating new foods. I have a passion for politics. I love following the constant stream of news, learning more about policy, and talking with others who have similar and who have different viewpoints than myself. I think differently than a lot of other Mormons politically, but my faith brings me the perspective I need to find meaning in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe every human is special. We are all children of God and we all need to be loved and appreciated. I am a Mormon because it helps me remember and see the self-worth of my brothers and sisters on this world, and helps me remember my own self-worth. It is a beautiful thing to feel love and give love, and nowhere have I felt that so strongly as in this gospel and in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

Being a university student, I primarily work with other young people. I spend a lot of time working with the other men in my church trying to form bonds and watch over each other. I look forward to helping those within my church community and those outside of it. This past winter, there were a lot of snowstorms where I live and it was a great experience to be able to help problem solve with my neighbors: figuring out where to park, getting cars unburied and unstuck, and getting people where they need to go safely in my all-wheel drive vehicle.
