Hi I'm Nani Aholelei

I love pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. I am a proud Tongan American and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised on the islands of Hawaii. Called to serve the people of the Philippines! I LOVE being with my family! I'm the second oldest of eight. I am a student at Brigham Young Universtiy in Provo, UT. Nutritional Science Major. I hope to take that degree and enter dental school and become an orthodontist. I joined the BYU Women's Cougar rugby team during my freshman year at BYU and have loved the sport ever since. Not a huge fan of TV, but I do love music, writing, reading, and running. I love to laugh and crack jokes. Not too serious about anything. I love to have fun and to just "chill" and relax.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, I fell in that category that consisted of Mormon kids who were born and raised in the church and who lived only off of their parents testimony. To be honest, I wasn't sure if I believed anything for myself. I believed that the church was true and I believed that it was right, but only because I knew no other! I didn't know what it was like to be a nonmember and to not have the knowledge that I had . It wasn't until I left for college that I was able to find out for myself if the church was REALLY true. I found true happiness! There are days where I still question and have my doubts but IMMEDIATELY my questions are answered and my confusion is made clear to me once again. I can sit here and try to compile a bunch of words that will help me explain how amazing this gospel makes me feel, but there really is not a single word. I can now testify that I KNOW that this church is true and I KNOW that I made the right decision. But I strongly encourage you to find out for yourself. You can't really let anyone tell you that its true. You must find out for yourself.

How I live my faith

I am currently a Sunday School teacher for the youth ages 14-17. At first I thought it would be really fun and easy considering they are so close in age to me, but I didn't feel the pressure of my calling until after I taught my first lesson. I realized that I not only had to teach these kids the correct principles and doctrines of our church but I had to live it myself. These kids look to me as an example and if I'm not living what I preach, how can I expect them to do so as well? I strive each day to better myself not just every day, but every second, every minute, and every hour of each day. I'm a strong believer in progression and I think that everybody has the ability to achieve anything and everything that they want to.
