Hi I'm Alyssa LaBlanc

I grew up in Las Vegas, NV. I love volunteering at camps for kids who have cancer, disabilities and autism. I am Mormon.

About Me

People always wonder why I am always so happy, I just can't help but smile and enjoy every bit of this life here on earth. I really love to sing, even if the room is completely silent. I always have a song in my heart, and most of the time it bursts out of my mouth for everyone to hear. I love making conversation with anyone and everyone I come in contact with. I have a really positive outlook on everything. Some hobbies I really enjoy doing is swimming, singing, and archery. I enjoy the great outdoors such as camping, hiking, and fishing. I am going to college as marine biology as my major. Aquatic animals are one of the few animals I am not allergic to. Every year for the past three years I have volunteered at a camp called TLC. Camp TLC allows the opportunity for children who have autism to have a summer camp experience. It melts my heart to help create those memorable moments for each of these children. After each camp, I walk away with a new found love for people who are unique in so many ways, and love catching a glimpse of their outlook on life. To spend time with these great people is truly a blessing. I am one of ten children in my family. We are a blended family of full, half, step, and adopted. I love each and every one of them. I was blessed with three wonderful parents, who love and support me. I am blessed with such a great family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to be born into The True Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I learned of the fullness of the gospel my entire life. As I became older my family fell away from the church, and I knew that if this is what I believed in I needed to gain a testimony for myself. I couldn't rely upon the testimony of my parents. I sought for a firm foundation and new that it had to be set upon my savior Jesus Christ. I prayed and continued to learn from the teachings in the Book of Mormon and Bible. I knew in my heart that through the power of the Holy Ghost the spirit would testify these things to be true. I know with every fiber in my body that these books are the words of God. In that moment I knew that this church was the true church because the Prophet Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon for us in this last dispensation. I know that as I continue to follow his commandments I will receive those promised blessings. I am so grateful to know of God's Plan of Salvation and that he has set forth something so perfect that he has included anyone willing to accept his son Jesus Christ. I know that He is there with open arms ready to receive us. I know that our Heavenly Father has blessed us with a modern day prophet to help guide us back to our Father in heaven. I am grateful for the atonement and the opportunity to be cleansed of our sins through our savior Jesus Christ. I know that our Heavenly Father has set out a straight and narrow path for us to follow to lead us back to his heavenly kingdom. I know that as I strive to become like His son Jesus Christ I can live with my Father in Heaven some day.

How I live my faith

I am a ward missionary. I invite friends, strangers, and family to church activities. I teach and fellowship them so they can learn of the gospel. I help provide the opportunity for them to investigate the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. On a daily basis, I try to follow the example of my savior Jesus Christ. I strive to show compassion and love for all of Heavenly Father's children. I constantly look for others to serve. I try to extend an invitation to church events to all those willing to accept.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Alyssa LaBlanc
The Book of Mormon is written by ancient prophets and record keepers in America. It was another testament of Jesus Christ the son of God. It is comprised of Christ's teachings, a record of his resurrection and how he taught them His gospel. He formed his church among those he appeared to in person. It verifies the teachings in the Bible. Show more Show less
