Hi I'm Brooke

I'm from Wisconsin and I love to play soccer. I lived in Germany for a year on a foreign-exchange and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student at Brigham Young University. I am studying Sociology and German and looking to minor in Russian. I lived in Germany for a year as an exchange student and loved every minute of the experience. Traveling and experiencing the world and different cultures are two of my biggest interests and are something I hope to continue doing throughout my life. I enjoy listening to just about every genre of music and I love to dance and sing just for fun. My motto in life is to wake up each day expecting something wonderful to happen!

Why I am a Mormon

My family started going to the LDS church when I was ten years old. The missionaries had been visiting with us for some time before we finally decided to go back to church. Since I was very young we had been active in a Lutheran Church in my hometown. Once we started going the the LDS church, however, I could just feel that something was different. I felt so much warmth and peace each time we attended church. It didn't take me long to realize that I wanted to be a part of this religion and as I sat in church one Sunday, I got an overwhelming feeling that I needed to be baptized in two weeks. I told the missionaries of this and two weeks later they baptized me. Never before had I felt such a reassuring feeling, and I knew I had made the right decision, even though I was still young. Ever since then I have felt the blessings and the hand of the Lord in my life time and time again, helping me to know that becoming a Mormon was the best decision I have ever made. It has turned my life and the lives of my family members completely around. I know that this is the true and restored church of God. I have felt the Holy Spirit testify to me that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith really was a prophet and that we have a true prophet on the earth today. I live each day trying to be more like Christ and I have found so much joy in attending church, fulfilling church callings, giving service, and learning how to come closer to the Lord. I love being a Mormon and I know with all of the fibers in my heart that the decision I made when I was ten, was the right one.

How I live my faith

I am very active in the church and I find so much joy in my calling within my ward. I am a ward missionary and each Tuesday night I have the opportunity to go to the Missionary Training Center to chat with people here on Mormon.org. I love being able to teach others about my love for the gospel. I live my faith by reading my scriptures every morning and night and really trying to study the words of the Lord. I try to make my prayers as fervent as possible and each day I work on becoming more like Jesus Christ.
