Hi I'm Madison

I grew up in Anchorage Alaska, I love my family, I have a love of life, I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Anchorage Alaska where I learned to love the beauty of the earth. My parents and my two little sister live in Anchorage. I am 21 years old and just finished my first summer as an especially for youth (EFY) counselor. This is a program designed for youth ages 14-18 to come and have fun and grow closer to Christ throughout a week. I also had the opportunity to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Colorado Springs Mission. I am also attending Brigham Young University Idaho. There I am studying Health Science in hope of becoming a Physicians Assistant.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the undeniable witness the Holy Ghost has been to me. There is only good in this church. The gospel of Jesus Christ is perfect. The people in the church are not. I have learned to understand that everybody is imperfect. I have had several knee, abdominal, and sinus surgeries and other medical concerns that have brought hardship to me and my family. This church is what kept me going. The kind people within the church and the belief that I have a Savior and a Heavenly Father that loves me no matter what I am going through. I know without a doubt in my mind this church is true. Christ loves me and He loves you. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

At the age of 19 I decided to serve a full time mission for the church. I left and had some medical complications with my gallbladder and was only able to give 4 months of full time service to the Lord. I have to say this was by far the hardest trial I have yet to face. Through the course of 21 years I have 8 surgeries. Having my gallbladder removed was nothing new, however it was the hardest. Not because of the physical plain, although that was not fun. I felt I had failed God. It took me almost a year of scripture study and prayer to realize that I had not failed Him but did what He has asked of me. I gave everything I had and God knows that. This trial helped me understand why we have a Savior. I also spent my most recent summer as counselor for the church's organization to help the youth. This program is called Especially for Youth (EFY). Being a counselor means that I am in charge of 8-12 girls as I help them understand that they are daughters of God. Not only was I able to help many youth understand who they were but I was able to come closer to the Savior as well. I also attend a church run university where all my instructor are of the Mormon faith. I am surrounded by wonderful young adults who are example to me and help me live my faith. I couldn't ask for a better life!
