Hi I'm Tim Light

I grew up in Montana. I love sports, music and art. I am one of twelve children and I love my family. I am a mormon!

About Me

I have always loved playing sports. I played soccer, basketball, tennis, and ran track throughout my high school career. However, I also have a great love for music and art. I started playing the piano when I was 5, the violin when I was 8, and I have been singing my whole life. I love being on stage performing. I have started in the musicals Brigadoon and Les Miserables. Although I love all these things, the thing I love the most is the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel has blessed my life and the lives of my family members so much. I come from a family of twelve children. With out the gospel I know my family would be a mess and perhaps there wouldn't even be twelve of us. Because of the gospel my family is happy. We all have a good relationship with each other and our home is a place of warmth, love and happiness. I know that all of the happiness I can account for in my life is because I know that my savior Jesus Christ atoned for my sins, that God loves me, and that the Holy Ghost will always be with me as long as I keep the commandments. I have recently been called to serve a full time mission in the Korea Seoul Mission. I am so excited to show my love for the people of Korea by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with them. I am excited to share the Book of Mormon with the Korean people. This book is the word of God and it is true. It is another testament of Jesus Christ, and abiding by its precepts will bring all who do so true happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have grown up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I still had to be converted. I have always had a testimony of the gospel, but having a testimony is a lot different than being converted. Having a testimony of something means that one has a beliefe in it. Being converted to something means that one knows that said something is true and that they themselves are willing to follow its teachings. I am converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that it is true and I am willing to obey the commandments, and give of my time in order to share with people the truth. I know that God loves me. He loves me so much that He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to atone for me, all people everywhere and through out all time. I know that Jesus Christ literrally has felt all that I have felt (happiness, sorrow, pain, regret, etc.); I know that in spite of all that, He still loves me more profoundly and perfectly than I can imagine. I love my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ with my whole heart, and I will be forever grateful to them. I have read the Bible and Book of Mormon, and I know that both are true. Both testify of each other and, more importantly, Jesus Christ. I know that if one follows the teachings and principles in the Book of Mormon, then that individual will feel true happiness unlike any other. I know that because the Book of Mormon is true, Joseph Smith is a true prophet and that we have modern-day prophets today to lead and guides us. Because the Book of Mormon is true, I know that the priesthood keys and authority have been restored to the earth; because the Book of Mormon is true, I know that my family will be a family together forever, we are an eternal family. This knowledge alone brings me more happiness than I can express in words. Because the Book of Mormon is true, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of Christ. Because the Book of Mormon is true, I am a mormon.

How I live my faith

My calling right now is to spread the gospel, to love people, and to stand as a representative of Jesus Christ. I have been called to serve a full-time mission, for two years, in the Korea Seoul Mission. As a missionary I will wake up every morning at 6:30 a.m., study my scripture, study the Korean language, and then go spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Which is that God loves all of His children, he loves them so much that He sent his son, Jesus Christ, to suffer and die for all so that they might return to live with God again. God has given us, His children, certain commandments that He asks us to live by so that we may have true happiness, as well as someday return to His presence.
