Hi I'm Jenny

I'm a mother. I'm a musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a family person! I have a loving husband and three beautiful girls, plus some fantastic siblings and parents! I love spending time with them. With our young family we love picnics, the park, the zoo, bus and tram outings, reading, cooking, sitting around and chatting, plus lots more simple things. I love music! It really has power to lift the soul and touch the heart. I completed a music degree majoring in saxophone, but these days (in my limited spare time) I spend most of my music time playing the piano, arranging/composing music, and conducting choirs at Church (lots of fun!). My husband and I also enjoy listening to various kinds of music and live concerts (especially musicals). I enjoy reading uplifting literature, watching movies (especially the classics), and eating nice food:)

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the Church when they were young adults, they met and were later married. They taught my siblings and I about the gospel of Jesus Christ from when we were babes. Since then, I have had my own personal experiences that witness to me time and time again that the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are true! As a youth I found it great to have guidelines to follow.... I had direction...I knew that I was a daughter of God and that I was not alone...I continue to enjoy that comfort and knowledge now, years later! As my husband and I strive to teach our children by word and example we see that light come on for them. They understand that they are Children of God, and love to learn more and more. Our six year old loves to teach us about the things she is learning in her primary class, and we have hours of fun at home, singing, reading and learning together. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father who hears and answers our prayers. I know that our Savior Jesus Christ set the example for all of us to follow. I know that the scriptures are true, and that we are led by a Prophet today who receives revelation to guide us in our lives. I am proud to know and be able to say, I am a Child of God and I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

From morning to night, my family and I strive to live our faith. We pray together, study the scriptures, enjoy precious spontaneous teaching moments with our little ones, and serve one another. Each Monday night we set aside time as a family to have a short lesson, followed by a game together. Our girls love to be involved and often end up teaching us things. Our home is a noisy place, with our three children, but a happy place, and our goal is to make our home a Heaven on earth! I find real fulfilment in serving at Church. Over the years I have enjoyed teaching various classes at Church and working with young children, youth, and adults. I find I learn so much when I have to teach something! At the moment I am enjoying working with the children in 'Primary'. I am part of a Presidency who are responsible for overseeing the teaching of the children (including doing some teaching ourselves), and finding ways to help these young ones understand that they are a Child of God and of great value. As I have my own young children I find it very relevant. We do lots of singing, story telling, smiling and object lessons. I have been fortunate enough to have had many opportunities and great experiences organising and conducting choirs. I love this! I think one of the best ways to feel close to our Heavenly Father and Jesus, is through inspiring music. The joy it brings to unite as a group and create something beautiful and uplifting, is what music is all about for me.
