Hi I'm Patrik

I like working on cars, the outdoors, and I'm serving a full time mission in the Michigan Detroit Mission And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have three sisters and no brothers, so I'm well acquainted with the works of Jane Austin :) But it's okay because my Dad and I talk cars and cool stuff like that ;) I like spending time outdoors. I've gone to a survival camp and hiked to the top of Kings Peak. Sports were never a large part of my life, but I ran cross country my senior year in high school. I was never very fast (my fastest 5k was about 21 minutes) but I learned that it's not where you're at, it's where you've come from. I always did my best and I feel proud of what I was able to accomplish. I play the viola as well. I was blessed with a Mom with the patience of Job who helped me to practice, even though I wasn't a very good sport about it. I have always loved cars. I bought my first car when I was 14. It was a blue 1991 Mazda 323 with a bad water pump. It was a huge pain fixing it, but it was also a great learning experience for me. I also learned that getting mad and throwing screw drivers at the ground does more harm than good... Especially when you're a bad aim... I have a nice scar on my leg to show for that lesson :) So I guess to sum it all up, I have to say that life is good, and always willing to help you learn. :)

Why I am a Mormon

While I was born into this wonderful church, I had to find out for myself if it was true. Figuring that out took effort, and I had to work at it for a while. It took reading the Book of Mormon, praying about it, and really wanting to know if it is true. My faith and knowledge didn't come all at once, but it came and is still coming through daily scripture study and prayer. I have tried to find happiness in what the world has to offer, be it music, cars, video games, etc. These things simply do not bring lasting joy. I have found that nothing else in this world makes me as happy as the gospel, and knowing that I have a Heavenly Father that loves me and cares about me so much that He would send His Son, Jesus Christ, to overcome the chains of death and provide a way for me to return to live with Them again. When we truly understand this, nothing else really matters.

How I live my faith

I am trying my best to follow the commandments and live my life the way that God wants me to live it. One of those ways is by serving a full time mission in the Michigan Detroit Mission, and telling anyone and everyone who will listen of the message we share about the beautiful plan that God has for each one of us. It's so great!
